Brilliant and I can't wait until it's done! Speaking of not waiting, I think I'm going to play Streets of Rage 4 in the next couple of hours. I hope it'll be deserving of its name.

Dan! What system did you play for your review? Did you get the Switch, PS4 or Steam Version? I’m trying to decide between the PS4 or Switch version. Figured I’d go to the Streets of Rage expert for advice on this one. I’m leaning towards the Switch port, but I was afraid the frame rate would be slower on the Switch? Ah!!!!! I need to play this game NOW! Help me Dan! Switch or PS4? Help a brother out!

I have actually only played the game via ps4 so far, but I no longer have access to that and I have installed the PC version (which according to mycontacts at sega has the most customizable graphics options and quicker updates)

Hey Dan, Happy to report that I purchased Streets of Rage 4 for the Switch (Digital Download. Limited Run games won’t be shipping my copy for 2 or so months.), and it plays silky smooth. It’s 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld modes, the controls are tight and it looks and sounds wonderful! The port for the Switch version is done by the same company that created the PS4 port, (Seaven Studio). All the options from the PS4 version are here on the Switch as well! They did a fantastic job. It’s an absolute joy to play in handheld mode, and the joycons are serviceable for co-op. (However, I would recommend using a standard Switch controller. A few reasonably priced controllers worked amazingly well for me and Mrs. Retrotonextgen!). Looking forward to getting my physical copy for the Switch! I did hear the Xbox One port had some missing options.

That's great news mate. I have currently Only played it on PS4 before release and have since been given a code for the PC. my limited edition switch bundle like you is gonna take a long time.

They really should work out a way for them to get shipped out the same day they are released. By supporting the devs the most we have to wait the longest... very odd way of going about it

Very true. I desperately wanted this on the Switch, and I like to give my money straight to the source when I can. Just like with indie music artists and labels it seems you have to pay a tad more and wait a bit longer for a quality product. I don’t mind waiting, but over 60 days after release seems a bit excessive. I’m not sure if we have some licensing/time exclusive issues at work here, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Limited Run will get a cut of the profits, so I’m guessing Sega/Dotemu/Lizardcube want their cut first from Digital sales first before Limited Run gets a piece of the pie. It makes sense. And, because the print numbers seem to be low they’ll be demanding higher prices at some point. Things can get tricky with Limited Run. Either way, I think you’ll be extremely happy with the port. I thought, “Well, I’ll take a little less to have the option of playing it on the Switch.”, but much to my surprise it plays like a dream! Now, I’m looking for a great Kickstarter video game to back. My collection is growing exponentially and I’ve only backed very minor campaigns on Kickstarter. Think I’ll take the leap to help developers during these uncertain times.

you are a good dude my man hahaha :D I am currently waiting on 3 games for the Switch myself from Kickstarter. Wonderful 101 (which is obviously quite a way off) Battle Axe and Inlight. that last one should be ready very soon. its also the only one that is fully digital

Thank you, my friend! (Don’t let the word out, though! You could ruin my sparkling reputation as a miser! Lol! That’s actually me in Ducktales and not Scrooge McDuck!) Indeed, I missed the boat on The Wonderful 101 campaign. I’m kicking myself for that one. Still, this gives me an opportunity to look into Battle Axe (Awesome title, btw) and Inlight! Thank you for the heads up!
