The guy you did not know is actor Alan Alda. He played Hawkeye on the TV series M.A.S.H. I have no idea of the connection they are making here. Maybe he is to provide a counter balance to an actor with a bad reputation.

I mean, it does kind of make sense that someone would get this idea about Mel Gibson, he spent loads of money to make a movie about a dude being graphically tortured. He’s got to a have a thing.

I’m also not religious, but I think, historically, Jesus was Jewish and advocating for reform of Judaism, Rome wanted him dead because he was so popular he was converting Romans, and the aristocrats of the Jews’ home country sold Jesus out to the Romans because one of the things Jesus was pushing was for the rich to give away all their money. Lots of stories about Jesus being a socialist, actually. When he saw loan sharks in Church/Temple, apparently he went home, braided a bullwhip, came back the next day, and literally whipped them out of the building, saying “you could shove a camel’s arse through a sewing needle more easily than you could get into Heaven rich.” Doesn’t stop the televangelists nowadays, though, so… best to ignore the whole thing, really.

Your kind of close lol. The Pharisees (Jewish elite/ law makers) wanted him dead for going against the Old Testament and they denounced his miracles as blasphemy. They ended up convincing the Roman’s to crucify him. All you need to do is read one of the gospels (matthew, mark, Luke, John.) it doesn’t take long and it explains how he is the song of god sent to take all your sins and show you how to live a life in line with god. It’s because of him that you are able to be forgiven and make it to heaven and have eternal life. The bible is real and it’s really powerful. Moderns religion is a joke. I just always recommend to read the scriptures (old and New Testament) it’s all amazing. And you will realize how much god loves all of us. Sorry for spamming but you had sort of the right idea but to fully understand the life of Christ you must read. His life is truly amazing and a miracle that it was documented so clearly and confirmed through so many people. It still holds true today that’s why the bible has lasted for thousands of years .
