Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is one of the best TV shows out there, let alone one of the greatest animes.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is almost everyone’s jump-on anime. Perfect length, strong story, really good English version, and not too much weird Japanesey stuff. Death Note is really cool but some action lovers consider it too slow and wordy. Cowboy Bebop has a lot of Western flavor, so it goes down easy. Attack on Titan gets depressing but it’s packed full of action and intrigue. Studio Ghibli is “THE anime movie studio for Westerners,” but not very representative of what you’ll see in TV shows. Comedy anime is basically all satire and parody, and almost nobody who chooses a comedy anime as their first enjoys themselves. Avoid until you’ve got a feel for the way anime does things.
