I was 16 when it first aired. 25 years on and its changed but fof the better in many ways.

Kenny does say actual things, and they are usually very perverted or blunt. More so than the rest of the characters. After a while, you'll start to understand him a little more.

Kenny is poor. The creators based him on the sad reality that when a child goes missing or is found dead, they're usually from a family of lower socio-economic class...typically because they're parents are alcoholics or drug addicts and the kid was left to his own devices. It's also why they tend to be more "worldly" than they should be for they're age. They're unsupervised, so they learn all sorts of sexual things other kids their age don't know. This is especially true if they grow up in a trailer park and are surrounded by kids of all ages.

OMG I can't believe I'm watching this again. It was the thing back in the day, but eventually the bigotry, racism and sexism got to be too much. I don't know what new seasons are like, hopefully nicer?
