After the season opening trilogy this is my next favorite episode. Seriously, that scene on the railroad bridge with Red Death and Blind Rage was so awesome. If you showed someone unfamiliar with the show a clip of that scene they probably wouldn't guess it was foremost a comedy. Those dots on Blind Rage's costume are braille for his initials 'B. R'.

Phantom Limb's apartment resembles that of special agent extraordinaire Derek Flint from the spy spoof movie "Our Man Flint", complete with a suspended wicker bed and female "playmates". I watched that movie for the first time last year and then happened to re-watch this episode a week later and made the connection.

Red Mantle/Dragoon's home is based on a real house in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY that show creator Christopher McCulloch walked past on his way to school as a child, which was dubbed the Gingerbread House. Paul was trying to guess the voice of Novia/Theresa. She was voiced by Cristin Milioti, who is the same woman who voices Sirena Ong and who also voiced the receptionist at the rehab facility where Action Johnny was a patient.

Oh, this has been brought up by fans, but never answered in the show. If all of Red Mantle/Dragoon's former arches are now dead does that mean that Desmond is now dead too? If you don't remember, he is the valet of the current Captain Sunshine but was previously the original Captain Sunshine. Dragoon stated in season 5 that he had arched him in the 60's. Maybe as he is no longer a superhero he no longer counts? Or he is actually dead.
