Zoot!

Why do I have 9 emails? Oh! Episode drop! Sploosh.

Henchman Twenty1

This two-parter is also based on the 1966 movie "Fantastic Voyage" (Watch it!), which probably inspired "Innerspace".

This two parter is so good. Been waiting for these two 😁

Ray's "Piggly Wiggly" reference is to a chain of American supermarkets that has Porky Pig as its mascot (or at least it really looks like him). I thought they were long gone, but they're still around in some parts of the country. I'm not sure why Ray's comment was considered racist though.

Lana's "Dr. Shrinkered" reference is from "Dr. Shrinker", which was a segment during the first season of the ABC network's The Krofft Supershow in 1976. Basically a plane crash strands three teens on the island of a mad scientist who shrinks them to 6 inches tall, but they then escape into the jungle. The doctor and his lackey, played by legendary little person Billy Barty, keep trying to catch them and they keep trying to find a way to get back to normal size. The show's theme song is awesome! ♫ Doctor Shrinker - Doctor Shrinker - He's the madman with an evil mind ♫

Pam's "Handingo" comment is in reference to a 1975 historical drama "Mandingo". I never saw it but it takes place in the deep South prior to the American civil war and involves interracial coupling. It is considered to be a really bad and racist movie.

The premise is from this movie, Fantastic Voyage, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060397/

It's because drive on down to the Piggy Wiggly is specifically a reference to Driving Miss Daisy in which Morgan Freeman is hired to be the driver for an old woman whose racist. I don't know how far spread Piggly Wigglys were but I do remember them being relatively common in the south east, I remember having been to one down in SC.

Just incase you didn't get the whole Shazam/Isis hour Billy Batson is the alter ego of the character now known as Shazam from DC comics. Back then he was most likely still known as Captain Marvel but by the name of the show I'm guessing it was after DC let the rights to Captain Marvel as the name of a comic book lapse, which Marvel comics jumped on. They could still call the character Captain Marvel, just not the comic because the character predated Marvel Comics being called that by over 20 years. In fact he was an extremely popular character at one point even being more popular than Superman, a character that actually inspired him. He was a Fawcett Comics creation which DC later bought out Fawcett comics and gained their character library. (Captain Marvel had been out of commission for years due to a lawsuit by DC actually.)

I'll just chime in and say that New Mexico looks nothing like that. Those high bluffs that they showed are really more characteristic of Utah.
