Henchman Twenty1

So was this recorded IN order and then just shown out of order? It seems that way, but fortunately the viewing order of episodes 8 and 9 don't really seem to matter too much. Also, go on YouTube and type "Bullitt car chase". No wonder Archer was.... excited! I wonder if Mr. McQueen did his own driving stunts?

Fun fact- All of Krieger's van designs are based on album covers by the band Rush.

Does anyone think Lana reminds you a lot of Agent 99 from Get Smart? They do make a few references to Get Smart in the show, one being when Archer yells out Buck Henry’s name as the name of his father. Buck Henry was the creator of Get Smart along with Mel Brooks (Spaceballs)

There are certainly some intended influences, I'm sure. I also remember reading about how when they had 86 and 99 get married the show's ratings tanked. I stopped watching Archer after season 7 so I don't know where they went with it, but don't spoil it for Paul if ya do know.

The Buck Henry’s name called was in the episode Once Bitten from season four. I loved Get Smart growing up, even visited Don Adams’ grave when I was in LA, (I’m from New Zealand.) We are in lockdown again & because of Archer decided to watch a few Get Smart episodes again after so many years. Maxwell Smart Secret Agent 86 of Control was a bit of an ass. He always looked at other women as much as you could on TV in the sixties, he would say the wrong thing at the wrong time which makes you lols. Max thought he was the world’s greatest spy too. Ninety Nine was a strong & independent character from the beginning, her only weakness was being in love Max since the pilot episode. Also gotta mention the hundreds of times Max saved 99’s life, “Max!” Lana also has 99’s hair style.

An old comedian named Mantan Moreland had a joke with the punchline "Shit, if I'd a known it was going to be that kind of party, I'd stick my dick in the mashed potatoes!" The line was made famous a couple decades later when the Beastie Boys sampled it in one of their songs. Archer's quote of that line is what causes Lana's dad to assume he prefers his mashed potatoes "98.6." Oh: that is normal body temperature on the Fahrenheit scale, in case you're more familiar with celsius.

The one in this episode was for their first album "Rush" which is why it was just called "Van." He's also had one for "Moving Pictures" and for "Exit Stage Left." Have there been any others? Oh, yeah. Wasn't there a Vanispheres for their album "Hemispheres.?"

In the previous episode, for what it's worth, she gave the actor a fake gun. The actor got a real one from his cousin because the one she gave him "like, looked so fake". Don't get me wrong; faking the kidnapping/hostage situation of your own child to test the dad by making him think the baby is in mortal danger is still fucked up...but at least we know the only one Lana wants shooting Archer is Lana.

HOLY shit I just noticed. Lana Anthony Kane; middle name typically male. Sterling Mallory Archer; middle name typically mother. I mean female.

Mr Kitty

Funny episode. You really rock that pink robe! =^_^=
