Can't wait to watch these, about to dive into both of them right now, I'll say "Spiral" is one of my all-time favorites for this Season, and it's a perfect description for the episode. These 2 episodes work really well back-to-back due to what happens at the end of Tough Love. Can't believe we are this close to the end of Season 5 already.

Ok just watched Tough Love, I love the fact how real-world they treat the Dawn situation, i.e. if Buffy cannot prove she is worthy to be her guardian, social services will take Dawn away, that's a very real-world concern. Buffy really has a lot of pressure to prove she can be a guardian for Dawn. I don't envy that, so I understand her freaking out a bit, she's never had to be the mom/caretaker, it's forcing her to grow up and mature into an authority figure. Yeah the end there is pretty shocking, but Tara calls Dawn a pretty "green energy" so I guess we know what color the energy is now, a pretty green light. Spike is also seeming very helpful lately.

Ok just watched Spiral, yeah once again a perfectly named episode. I loved the scene fighting on top of the motor home while it's rolling, really ramping up the action sequences, it was nice if a little clunky. So Ben is Glory? Is that what we are saying? Oh, and lore drop, we now know a whole lot more about Glory and the Key.

"Bag of Tricks?" "Bag of Knives" one of my favorite moments of the season

..."Oh and they brought a crusade" one of my favorites

"Aim for the horsies!"

"I OWE YOU PAIN!!!" Such a badass moment for Willow. I love it. And the hospital scene.... "She's my everything" 😥 Love the comment at the top about how you need to prepare for the episodes now. Laughed so hard

Timothy Nikiforovs

Forgot about that. I thought maybe your comment was for the Merlin upload and you just clicked under the wrong video. LMAO, too funny

Bruh this show goes off for the foreseeable future. The fifth and sixth seasons were superb honestly and so deeeeeep.

Poor Tara! I mean getting her hand run through the grinder isn't enough, they gotta make her a vegetable too? She's had such great character development this season too, really one of the more mature scoobies IMO. She was right to voice her concern over Willow's seeming obsession with magic though. It's valid to think she could be losing herself in it, after all she did go all Emperor Palpatine on Glory there. Also gotta love Anya bringing some levity to the episode. Everyone saying how much they hate the hospital and she just goes "it's like communism". Then there's Xander's realization that he's heading down some weird rabbit hole asking Anya how browsing the shop's items is "unpatriotic". By the way, the moves on Giles this episode. The way he calmly realized Glory's minion was there, carried on with conversation like nothing was off, and smoothly took him down with the door. Also good chat with Buffy in the gym. He was probably thinking precisely about the possibility of social services getting involved if Buffy didn't step up but didn't want to make her panic. Well, the secret is out, Glory knows who the key is. That clearly puts us in the home stretch. Also the tension of ending the episode with them cornered like that. Lastly I gotta say, after Glory does her bit about crucifying witches and Buffy steps in with "they used to bow down to gods too", that psychotic laugh is one of my favourite Glory moments. She's the most purely chaotic evil of the big bads IMO.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Buffy is down so bad at the end of Spiral. Practically any other time in the show, she'd chase Glory halfway across the country on foot without a second thought to get Dawn back, but like she said "it just keeps coming". There's a certain point where no matter how strong your resolve is, the fight just gets kicked out of you. Glory getting Dawn is definitely going to bring things to a head one way or another, but it's all just kind of a mess right now. At least Giles is still breathing. They really played that like a death scene. Spike honestly stepped up in a big way here. Even Xander seems to have found a begrudging respect for him. He'll never like the guy, but he did right by the group here, so credit where it's due. Also those fuckin goggles, lol. Gotta say though, I thought my signature was pretty neat, but this Dante guy has a frickin perfect signature. Real talk they must have printed that and had the actor pretend to be writing it. That's just inhuman precision next to a typical doctor's chicken scribbles.

What would Angel do?

This is what I love so much about Glory (besides being a badass and hilarious) - she is the definition of a wrecking ball. Comes in hard, has no chill, brute force and as such is a breath of fresh air villain wise for Buffy x

Cant wait for the final two episodes of season 5
