Ah yea... This one xD I absolutly loved it, this episode was something else never seen in stargate before and actual really interesting for the world building of this small sector of the universe :D

I absolutly love this episode.

"Whats a girl to do?" :D, strange how one of my favourite Daniel episodes is followed by one of my favourite Carter episodes. Highlights: Tech Con, Golan Jarlath Captain of the Auron! and that receptionist lol. Also Niman played by Replicator fifth actor, good performance.

This isn't one of the more popular eps of SG1 S7, but I do like the world building and seeing that it isn't just the big players(asgard, goa'uld, nox, etc..) in the galaxy with a bunch of medieval to industrial level civilizations mixed in. There are advanced groups out there that are just smaller regional powers, which makes the galaxy feel a bit bigger. What I really love about this episode though is just getting to see Carter really have fun for once. Daniel gets to nerd out on archaeology/anthropology all the time, and Teal'c and O'Neill are always hanging out. Sam got to let her inner adrenaline junkie out for once and it's great. "What's a girl to do", lol. Well if they can adapt those ion engines to the 302s or scale them up for the 303, might make for a much more efficient propulsion system. Then they just have to work out the hyperdrive issues and they're off to the races as it were. This episode actually bears a striking similarity to an episode of Star Trek Voyager. There are 2-3 other SG1 eps that have remarkably close equivalents in that show. Also Scott McDonald(Jarlath) played several roles throughout the various trek series(Tosk and Goran'Agar from DS9 come to mind). The hyper commercialized society on Hebridan was also pretty entertaining. Can't get over the timing of that funeral services advert.

Fun fact, the receptionist at Tech Con is played by Hillary Cooper, the wife of co-producer/writer Robert C Cooper. Love this episode. Just the team having fun (with life or death stakes, yadda yadda yadda 😁). Sam saying "indeed" to Teal'c is one of my favorite moments between them. And Eamon calling the villain a moron always makes me laugh.

Also it's a huge credit to the show and the tone they've built over the years that they can go from "Brutally murdered SGC team member crucified by hostile aliens" to wacky space adventures full of one-liners and running gags in just one episode.

Murray! I adore this episode in all its cheesiness.

Fun fact, the actor that plays Warricks little brother Eamon is Patrick Currie, the same actor that plays Fifth and Chaka. His voice is super recognizable, though maybe not as much when the plays Chaka :)

This is a fun episode, plain and simple. It's an episode that's easy to go back to.

This is just a fun light hearted episode, you can tell they are experimenting with really fun stuff now. This type of "race" episode with typical alien propo and branding commercials is a SCIFI trope, but I love it. It makes the world here feel big, usually these planets come off as very small, but this makes it seem like they truly are global, there's big corporations, TV, commercials, sports, it makes it feel like a real society. So yeah, this is Sam having a lot of fun, you can tell from the beginning this is all about thrill, Sam came in carrying a motorcycle helmet, showing that she's a dare devil at heart, and that's where the theme of the episode went. But we did get something pretty big here, ION Propulsion, we actually got one of their engines to back engineer and replicate!!!! That's huge. BTW, ION Propulsion is a real-world thing, the Deep Space 1 mission launched in 1998 used experimental ION Propulsion for the first time in a real space flight, and was successful, since then other probes have used ION Propulsion to get to and orbit comets in space. So this is a real-world technology.

This is probably the most 'out there' SG episode ever, and I kind of like it just for that. Completely out of left field.

Jarlath reminds me of a less effective GoT Euron in space. Also, as much as he's told to "SHUT UP", when he steps in with his communication scrambler, and claims he's no hotshot pilot, "but demolitions - is an art," Sam connects with him in that moment, whether she likes him or not.

I didn't know the guy who played marty died. He had tons of small parts in tv shows over the years but he had an every day role in White Collar which was really fun. I definitely recommend it.
