Skimmed through the video real quick to see which episode this was, yep, this is a great one, a lot of lore revealed. Ben is Glory? Are we implying that Ben and Glory are connected? What was that again? Ah well, I can't remember, it's probably nothing...... Look forward to watching the video entirely to see your reaction, will post later.

Are you saying that Ben and Glory have some kind of connection? Yes, but what KIND of connection?

Brent Justice

Just watched the reaction, thank you. This is a big lore drop episode for sure. So at the beginning, we learn that Glory ruled as God over a hell dimension, and Anya confirmed there are thousands of hell dimensions, so we have confirmation of that now. Remember when Angel was sent to one? It's just one of many potential hell dimensions. However, with Glory being here on Earth it has weakened her being in human form, she's not as strong as she would normally be, and it is also making her crazy. So a lot of good info there. We also learn some about the key, it's a green ball of energy, it opens a lock, it's neither good or evil, depends how it is used. Glory still does not know it's Dawn, and touching her doesn't reveal this info either, so she is truly still in the dark to where the Key is. We also learned that Ben and Glroy have a connection, but what the connection is? Who knows, but Dawn seemed to "forget" seeing Ben turn into Glory, which is interesting. Otherwise, a good reveal episode, the cat is out of the bag now, so it will be interesting to see where this goes. I liked the blood comparison at the end, "This is Summers blood." One thing I'm picking up on also is how much their memory and history has changed. For example, Dawn saw Buffy pushing her on a swing as a young kid here in Sunnydale at that park. But in the original history Buffy wasn't in Sunnydale at this age yet, she was still living with her father/mother, she only came to Sunnydale at the age of 16. So her entire history is much different than they were originally. Xander remembers Dawn at age 7, but Buffy would have not have been here in Sunnydale at that age, that was 7 years ago, 7 years ago Buffy would have been 13 and not in Sunnydale yet. So that is trippy, but I find that very interesting, cause as we all know memories shape our personality, and Buffy's and family are very much changed, their entire history is different now!

This is not Buffy’s toughest birthday. Season 2 and 3 were much worse. Great episode though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when Buffy was talking to Dawn at the end there was a chunk of dialogue that was removed. Very strange. Not sure what version FW is watching but I'm sure there was an edit there.

As awkward and creepy as Spike has been of late, he had a really strong showing in this episode. Buffy was absolutely taking out her anger on him rather unfairly. He had no idea she was the key or what she was looking for, and he was looking out for her. He was also showing some genuine concern trying to reassure Buffy that she'll find Dawn. Much better look than his creepy simping of late. Also he stepped up to fight Glory. We'll have to see what exactly this connection between Ben and Glory is. Something to do with her being trapped in human form? Still a lot of questions there. And can we just acknowledge the questionable weapon choices sometimes on this show. They started strong with Darla and her pistols, but knowing how dangerous Glory is, why are these knights of Byzantium using swords. And what's with Giles' dinky little crossbow? I mean at least get a proper full power crossbow. Seriously though the watcher's council was just reiterated to have quite a bit of resources and I'm sure these knights of Byzantium do as well. You're telling me they can't get hold of some RPGs and 50 cals off the black market? Might not work, but hey, worked well enough on the Judge, who honestly felt like a similar threat level to Glory, especially since he could microwave a whole mall of people at once.
