Such a great crossover episode! Some people argue that this should come before Fool For Love in the Buffy/Angel watchlist, but I totally disagree - I love how by watching FFL first, you think Angel's reaction to Spike killing a slayer is down to envy, but this episode reveals that he was masking his horror and disgust. Maybe I'm just a sucker for a 'things are not as they seem' moment.

You were so into the last Buffy episode that I spent half the reaction thinking about your reaction to this episode... Now I gotta watch them both. Nice. Also... you gotta love the extra context in the scene where Spike killed the Slayer. If you were only watching Buffy, you'd have no idea Angel was actually good at that moment.

I've only seen FanTheoryTV where they watched Angel first then the Buffy. I'm not a purist over the watch order that thinks they should now be burnt at the stake or anything but I agree it doesn't have the same effect. Didn't quite work here because Faily recognised Angelus straightaway in the Buffy episode but the "reveal" that Spike bumped into Angelus/Darla/Dru in the Angel episode is usually worth watching in the Buffy/Angel order for that reason alone! (I personally didn't watch Angel until years after Buffy and had absolutely no clue that Spike had bumped into them in that scene!)

Ohohoh, this episode was amazing. The Drama has arrived and I'm here for it!

It seemed to me that Darla appeared to be very sick before the Master made her a vampire, apparently, she was going to die it seemed unless she was made a vampire. Interesting bit of info.

THE MASTER!!!! Well there's a callback. Great tie in ep with that last Buffy ep. The 2 really compliment each other quite well. I think the previous times I've watched these shows I just did 1 then the other(only saw bits of Angel when it aired, and the latter half or so of Buffy), so I don't think I've watched these 2 back to back. I recognized the tie in but not all the details of it. Gotta say, a lot of shows take a while to really hit their stride. Buffy was pretty solid by this point as well, but Angel by the end of S1 even was really coming into it's own. The writers on both shows really hit the ground running.
