📢⚠️🚨 Harold "Harry" Maybourne episode

Andrew Dubbel

Nothing like a good Stargate upload on my bday!

Brent Justice

Can't wait to watch this later today :P

Geonn Cannon

One of my favorite episodes. I love the style, the music, the creepiness... it's so great and so unlike any other episode.

Ah the Furlings, remember when everyone thought the Furlings were trees? (<-To my old school watchers like me who watched this live back in the day) I guess they could be /shrug Though the name Furling does sound like a fuzzy creature to me, I agree with Jack! Anyway, finally, we see something connected to the Furlings, which is one of the great 4 races of the Nox, Asgard, and Ancients. Apparently, the Furlings at least have this kind of transporter device that can transport to their moon, so we know it has pretty good distance, I wonder how far it could transport, ceratinly far enough to be a transporter for travel within a planet. The color grading change when they go into the drug-induced mode is pretty cool, noticed it right away. It made it look much more cinematic.

For whatever reason, when I heard the name Furling (which was never seen in writing) during my first binge of the show, my brain interpreted the word as being "Ferling", and for that reason I never made any association between them and fur like most people apparently did.

I do like seeing Sam's emotional breakdown. We haven't seen many reactions to the Daniel thing and beeing afraid of loosing Jack, too. Liked that Tealc was there to listen and to help. :)

Happy birthday!

They should have made all goa'uld technology come from the dead Furling race.

DANIEL JAMES

That would be a great idea! Not ALL of Goa’uld technology, but the basis of it. The first Pyramid ship from the movie intro, would explain how Ra got to earth before possessing the human. Heck the city in this episode is a Pyramid (stepped, but still). It’s a nice bit of head canon that fits in so well.

Timothy Nikiforovs

He returns!! Also happy birthday man. I really enjoy this episode if for no other reason than Jack finally buries the hatchet with Maybourne. Way back when he first showed up and in eps like Bane, you honestly just wanted him dead, but starting around Foothold he started this path of redemption which culminated in this episode. It's one of the better secondary character arcs on the show IMO. The man has earned his retirement at this point. Also Dr. Lee is back. It's been a minute since he was introduced. 2 seasons or so way back in season 4's Prodigy. Feel kind of bad for the man when Sam snapped at him after he spend a week grinding. But stress happens. As Fanny said, the scene with Sam and Teal'c in the locker room is really good. Aside from Abyss and that scene in Descent(also with Sam and Teal'c), there hasn't been a ton of acknowledgement regarding Daniel's death/ascension and the effect that had on the team, which is hard to buy at times given the 5 years they spent together. Props to Teal'c for being a perceptive motherfucker. Really touching scene. And yet again we have another tease of the furlings without really learning anything about them. I suppose if we assume those skeletons are furlings, we at least know they're humanoid. Speaking of skeletons, when O'Neill is counting the bodies and finds the one in the water, his face just says "shit....I've been drinking that stuff". Some interesting directing going on in this episode. The camera angles and movement, the desaturated effect, and especially the sound design this episode turned this relaxing, peaceful, lakeside environment into something creepy and otherworldly. Also I have to point out, S6 is just flying by. Already 2/3 of the way through. Just 3 more weeks and on to my favourite season.

Replicator Aphophis? That's just an awesome idea. Maybe you should try becoming a screenplay writer some day, you have good ideas. As others have said, good episode. They did a good job making a nice lake shore feel very creepy and alien, and I liked how the color changed after Jack started eating the plant thing and then changed back a little after he stopped. The only thing that would've made the episode better was if they gave us little hints about Jack and Harry being on that moon by showing a slight difference in gravity. The moon is smaller so it should have lower gravity. Could've been something subtle, even just having the team complain about the high gravity on the planet the first time they arrive and then never mention it again.
