Gunn! 😃 This was a nice surprise, I thought this was a s2 episode. "Wanna see the check again?" I loved Cordelia in this episode, and her little debate about David at the end. She's done a lot of growing since Sunnydale and I like that it's still ongoing. They're all still finding themselves and trying new things. Like Angel using his Angelus rep to keep the other vampires in line.

"You expecting somebody else?" - what an introduction!

Hello Gun. An ok episode, I agree it was a bit melodramatic, but it sets up Gun's motivations quite well for what he does and why. Like you said, it did feel kind of like a setup episode. Vampires turning into bats, interesting idea.... Maybe it would be tooooo fantastical to have that though.

Charles Gunn has entered the building!

I'm not 100% sure they said his first name in this episode? Could be wrong, apologies if am.

What I like about this episode is it shows that humans aren't helpless against demons. Buffy always created this mythos that it was basically impossible for anyone but the slayer to really fight vampires and demons. I mean sure, the various Scoobies have all played their part and dusted a few vamps, but there's a strong sense that they're in a supporting role and would be screwed without Buffy, as shown in the wishverse where Buffy never came to Sunnydale. Even with billions of government funding, the initiative still wasn't able to challenge the supernatural when it came down to it. Gunn and his group were poor and starving, but they were determined. Yeah, they suffered losses, they were fighting an uphill battle, but they were standing their ground. I like that. Humans certainly aren't as strong as vampires and demons, but they're far more adaptable and resourceful. Gunn's sister going all sexual before she tried to bite him.....that I could do without.
