Let's get this bread

Now you gotta rewatch the Intro to the dungeons and dragons Community ep!

LOTR has, arguably, the most pervasive world building in the fantasy genre. There's literally an entire history book of the entire Middle Earth that goes into massive detail far beyond LOTR or The Hobbit.

Martin Kull

LOL, everyone asks that question about eagles :) but still.. the greatest trilogy of all

Ryan X

"Bilbo gives me 7th doctor energy" LOL

I love these movies because they literally filmed each film back to back with little to no time away from set

Michael Pruden

Man I'm gonna have to go out and get some snacks then come back and watch this haha, forgot this was coming nice!

Skebaba

It's also one of the CODIFIERS for many High Fantasy standards, too.

Andre Brands

Ask again about the eagles after the third film, I don't want to spoil stuff for you.

Brent Justice

You said that you felt this movie was made to feel "grand" just you wait.... just you wait.... cause that's exactly how these movies are made, to feel "grand" and "epic" you'll see.

Allan Cornett

Watching the videos of the making of the movie on your own time is worth it. Filmed in the fantastic landscape of New Zealand the perfect setting for all Middle Earth.

Phoenix Dawn

There are not enough words to describe how much I love this film. To me, Fellowship is a masterpiece! And as you said, it is soo grand. In fact, I don't know any grander film (SW films come close, but I love the way LotR filmed a lot more). Having said that, maybe it would be better if you had started with the theatrical cut which paces a bit better. Extended is for the enthusiasts/lovers haha.

Ugly Pig

Why didn't the eagles just fly them all the way? Well for one thing, Mordor is full of orcs that would love nothing more than an obvious target to shoot down... The idea is to sneak in and destroy the ring without anyone realizing what they are even up to. Currently, the only thing the bad guys know is that a hobbit has the ring... it would be bad if they figured out the plan.

Farina

I absolutely love Sam, what a champ and what an incredible friend! Can't wait for your next reaction!

Grace

I haven't watched this yet, but had to comment when you said you were told to watch the extended edition... I would not recommend that for a first-time viewer of this series. It can come off boring unless you are already a fan of the theatrical. The point of the extended is to give the fans more. I hope it goes well with the extended for you, but if not...it's probably because you might not yet be craving that extra bit of info the extended provides. Either way, thank you :).

Grace

Welp, it looks like it didn't bother you. Glad you enjoyed the extended :) THANK YOU.

Timothy Nikiforovs

Ahh, Boromir.................he was dead the second he showed his face....the face of Sean Bean Also the door to Moria was like "you have 3 attempts remaining before you are locked out for 24 hours"

EM Jeanmougin

I read the first Game of Thrones book before the TV show came out and when I saw they had cast Sean Bean as Ned Stark I laughed so hard I cried. Poor dude, forever type-cast as a dead man.

Teth

Yep. I still cry like a baby at Boromir's death scene.

One thing I love as a special feature is in that fight at the end, where Aragorn was fighting the Uruk and got the knife thrown at him, and he hit the knife away with his sword... well, let's just say that the stunt guy playing the Uruk messed up his aim, and Viggo Mortenson (Aragorn's actor) ACTUALLY deflected that knife from ACTUALLY impaling him in the face. So that moment at least is legitimate, true, real badassery. As for why the eagles didn't take them to Mordor? Well, let's just say that after you've finished the trilogy, you should watch this video on the subject! Heck, maybe even react to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMXX2YsrxsE

James Yancy

It really is effectively one movie divided into three parts, and while each part can be enjoyed alone, they can't convey the story without all the parts together.

Talon Karrde

what Galadriel did is why the Eagles can't carry them... they are the most powerful and if the ring took them it would be the worst timeline
