Thank you!

Ashley

I thought like you did before I watched the movies myself -- that it was just some kids show. The only reason I ended up watching them was I saw this movie on TV one day and became intrigued.

Lots of people call this their favourite (up there with 3). I'm not sure, but it is a damn good film. Shame it's so short though!

Sandra

The casting of Luna Lovegood is the best casting in the history of man I remember way back when, when I heard the actress speak, before the movie was releases, It was a bit unsettling how Luna she really is. Like woah!

Sandra

Needless to say they cut so so much. And they had to pace the second half really fast to fit everything essential. To the point where I as someone who had read the book at least a couple of times by then where all like ”wait what, what’s happening” I remember thinking that it would be impossible for a non reader to fully grasp the story. I was a bit dissapointed, but accept the fact that the book is just too big to do it true justice. I am and have always been in favor of a Harry Potter in anime format. Hopefully in my life time, fingers crossed.

Thank you for this reaction, this one was much better than the last one. The edits were smooth, you didn't pause as much, and there weren't as many distractions. I could tell you paid attention to detail and were very attentive to the movie. That is very appreciated and makes for a really great reaction. I enjoyed watching this video and felt I got my monies worth. I look forward to the next HP movie reaction.

Oliver Harrison

"Lack of Dobby" Dobby was actually in books 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 but they cut so much of him out

Farina

the book is by far my favorite, though I really love this movie aswell! I love Helena Bonham Carter and even though I hate Bellatrix with a passion, she is one of the most well played villains to me! Luna Lovegood was a brilliant addition to the squad as well and the actress was actually a fan, before becoming a cast member. She is so much like Luna in the books, its fascinating! Loved your reaction as always :)

Daryl

Just finished. Solid reaction to this one. I agree that the midsection of the film rushes along and tries to cram a lot of info in. I felt as a first time viewer, having not read the books, that I was seeing enough to appreciate the story. I later got Stephen Fry to read me the books to help fill in the caps, which I enjoyed enormously. Because of my Dyslexia I've always been more of a visual person, so film is my medium. It's just the way my brain is wired. Because the amount of detail that had to be left out, I always thought the narrative was ripe for a TV miniseries for each book. The current trend for that particular popular format was not as, if not at all prevalent when these stories were written and then subsequently taken to the big screen.

soledsnak

just fyi, dobby did show up in the *book* of 4, but not in the movie sadly

Viktor Bayliss

Yeah, the filmmakers where making the film while the books were coming out, so no one knew how important he would be. Does Not help HP4 director mike Newell was absolutely shit (He even admitted he hadn't read the book before accepting the job, because, grasp this, it was simply to long)

Looove this one too. Starting from the 4th movie, it's really tough because they have to cut half of what happens in the books basically, and even moreso in this one as this was the shortest movie but longest book of the series. Still, they did a nice job at adapting the incredible amount of content to movie format. Great reaction too!

It's been over a decade and I am not really into Harry Potter anymore like I was when I was younger but I'm still shocked by the lack of chemistry between Harry and Cho in the movies and the books lol

Eli Zarzecki

I was curious if you’ve recognized that Tom Felton (Draco) was also in the Flash as Julian during the Savitar arc

Emma Baldwin

So, I was willing to accept Lily and James looking older in the mirror and as ghosts.. because maybe that’s how Harry would like to view them. However, seeing them look older in the picture Sirius gave Harry? Yikes. They did at age 21. They looked early 40s (because the actors were around that age). Why not just cast younger actors?

Jack Mellor

One of the best films in the series, visually speaking especially. I love the look of the wand battles in this, especially the duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort at the end, the way the light of the magic is going everywhere, reflecting on Harry and the walls, the lack of music, the battles feel almost dreamlike if you see where I’m coming from. That being said, the series is getting to a point where the common critique of “The Books Were Better” is getting prominently larger. Although I still think the series as a whole is good (like there’s weaker films in this series but they are all...GOOD) and on their own they’re excellent fantasy films, believe me when I say that the books do the plot and the characters so much more justice, both in this film and the next one in particular. They’re worth reading (or at least listening to, because the Stephen Fry narrated audiobooks on Audible are f-ing phenomenal) For example, the film never explains the Dementor attack on Harry, so for context, the book reveals that it was Umbridge, saying that “someone had to act” to keep Harry quiet about Voldemort being back, so she personally ordered the Dementors to kill him.

Is this 5th film can only be watched in 360p?
