The Lone Cyberboy has entered the chat 👀👏

Enjoyed this. Though when they started talking perception filters and security systems in a layout changing house, I immediately thought they were in another TARDIS. 🙂

Once this season is done you could revisit some episodes from each season along with some classics. A re-reaction. 😂

I was really liking the spooky vibe of this episode though it wasnt really scary, I thought the house kinda twisting around on them was a cooler concept than most of the episodes taking place inside the tardis because those are usually just endless hallways, I was really hoping this was the masters tardis and it changed its shape but then the master is usually up in your face the whole time. I felt the lone cyberman looks cool but it just felt rushed and the conclusion of like "oh we cant give him what he wants, ok ill give him what he wants" like they could have worked more on the script made this a 2 part episode and had the cyberman having to work to get what he wanted but we wasted too much time on save the planet episodes which bombed hard.

Magus

As for your script lets just hope the BBC isn't as prejudice against Canadians as they are against Americans. "Doctor Who Rejected Stephen King’s Son Because He’s American"

13- “This ain’t no flat team structure”. Me 😱😱

Magus

13- "The audience hates this cast so i do too!" Feel like the doctor had a much closer bond with all the previous companions, so either its how poorly written these ones have been or how bad of actors Yas and Ryan are or how standoffish shes been this regeneration. Also the writers life is important his death could make it so none of you ever existed! But the butler? Nah hes a working class stiff fuck him, for all we know he was Grahams great great great grand father or something and now well hes dead.

I was really impressed with this one. I'm glad it was a good one for this trip to Geneva. The Doctor feels the same way about Lord Byron's reputation as I always did, too. I also think we're watching her attempt to turn over a new leaf fall apart again. "I got too noisy, too big" or whatever it was exactly. I keep thinking about that. And I still think the light things are the furthest evolution of the cybermen and they're working to make sure they get where they end up, no matter the cost in the past. Poor Percy having to witness his own drowning to save himself in the present, though.

Alex Cross

Fun fact - Mary Shelley was actually a companion to the 8th Doctor for a brief stint in the Big Finish audio dramas. She even encountered the Cybermen! Guess that isn't canon now.

I have a feeling all three companions are on their way out. Ryan misses his friends and has a problem with living at a different rate of time than theirs. He’s good for comic relief, but when he had an opinion, the Doctor scolded him severely in front of the others. I think Ryan’s seen enough of space and time. Graham’s cancer returning seems too obvious, so I don’t think that will be why he leaves. Although it troubles him, and I don’t think he was too satisfied with the Doctor when he shared his concerns with her. Graham has seen the Doctor pull off some miraculous feats of science. I really think he was trying to ask the Doctor if she can help him, and the Doctor avoided the subject. I think Graham will leave because his basic common sense is telling him it’s time. Also, he’s Ryan’s grandfather. If Ryan leaves, it makes sense that Graham would accompany him. As for Yaz? She didn’t seem to agree with Ryan when he was talking to her about missing friends and living at a different rate. She’s been very adventurous lately, showing initiative, leaping into the unknown. It’s as if she’s showing off. The Doctor shot Yaz an disturbed look of concern recently when Yaz insisted on going off on her own. Yaz might be infatuated with the Doctor. Could the Doctor be her “enigmatic friend”? I think Yaz will want to stay, but the Doctor will insist she leave along with Ryan and Graham – because she sees Yaz becoming too reckless under her influence. As for next season, I see the Doctor acquiring another trio of companions because she still doesn’t want to get too close to any one individual. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the Doctor goes off to collect the astronaut and his husband and the vlogger.

Great to see you enthused about this episode. I can't recall many episodes from the past 2 series that have appeared to have you as visually excited during your summation. I'm sitting uncomfortably on the fence with this one atm. I'm hoping it will settle as a above par ep that is a good set up for the final two eps depending on how well they unravel. I did love the flat team structure jibe. That felt more Doctor than we've had for the most part of late. By the end of this series I'd like to see some of these character threads be tied together to something more coherent in regards to The Doctors distance from her companions. It might be interesting to see this Doctor have enough and kick them all the curb and fall down an isolationist dark path for the next series. Not necessarily as a reflection of their characters in particular but to give us something new.

Magus

The doctor kept talking about vibes off the house but ive been getting vibes off the cast that they are either bitter about viewer feedback or about knowing their days are numbers because things just seem off. Graham was amazing in the first season this season hes just kinda comic relief, theyve given Yaz something to do to try and make her character look more important in like 3 episodes and now trying to build up this crush on the doctor sub plot i think just to make the doctor kick her out, she seems to be doing things to try and impress the doctor kinda clara. Rumor is the whole scene with jack in the earlier episode was just because once again they didnt know what to do with such a large cast of companions and they wanted the Ruth & doctor moments be isolated and more impactful, personally i think the reveal would have been cooler with the companions there instead it was just a throw away scene at the end of the episode with the doctor telling the companions a tiny bit about herself and oh yea Ruth is me...... somehow and they are like... OK cool. I think the disconnected standoff approach with the companions has been a huge mistake this season you can tell theres no real bond with the "fam" other than the few moments the doctor actually calls them fam. which started in her first episode like they were trying to force this sense of fellowship on us then never built on it ever

Mr K

I've watched and heard so many stories based around that night. That was one crowded house. 😂

You had the best reaction to the Doctor's speech to her companions, that's exactly how I reacted! I absolutely loved this episode, it's easily the best of Jodie's run and her definining moment so far.

JY

Great episode! Easily one of the best episodes of the series. The Doctor was on top form, the supporting characters were great and the companions were used really well here. Really solid direction and the atmosphere was greatly cryptic. Not necessarily scary but very eery. 13 snapping at Ryan was a great moment. This is the best she's been so far and it's the first time I've felt heavy emotions from her. I'm glad we're finally getting more depth with her in this series. Easily her best moment as The Doctor so far. They're starting to reflect more on how she's so distant. I liked your reaction to her speech The Lone Cyberman was threatening too. I really appreciate that they've improved both Daleks and Cybermen. They've improved heavily from the previous era. We're finally reaching the end game now. I hope the pay off with Ruth and the timeless child lives up to this build up from the Judoon episode. I feel like we're gonna lose some of the companions.

DinoX7

That's a good idea. I'm thinking back to The Doctor's Wife episode with Amy and Rory lost inside the Tardis corridors.

Siti Dee

I went straight to your reaction vid for a second viewing after i've already watched the first time. And yes, i too was impressed with this ep! It took me by surprise as i went in with low expectations, and actually thought it's gonna be another filler. But turned out LOVING IT. And when the Doctor went all in on Ryan? The close ups view on their faces! They were SHOOOOOKETH! 😱 Gotta say Jodie's performance throughout this season was *chef's kiss* I can't wait to see what's in store for all of them the last two episodes! *crosses fingers for Jack's return part 2!*

Dan Silvershein

is the show sound super low for anyone else?

Art Strohl

Don't forget what Jack said (Don't give the lone cyberman what it wants) x.x
