GAME TIME: Saturday August 27th, 3 PM - 7 PM Eastern Time

Greetings, Threshold patrons!

The next Threshold session will be Saturday, August 27th from 3 PM-7 PM Eastern Time. For new patrons, the session isn't streamed live, but it will be released about a week after the session.

First of all, the characters have been added to the Kanka site. Use this invitation if you've never used the site before. I've posted details about Captain ir'Bit, Magister ir'Wynarn, the Orrery, Arbiter Chorus, and Wayfinder Wolf; I'll get to the Aegis as soon as possible, but we don't have a lot of time before the session so we need to get moving with the challenge. For new folks: the rules of Patreon won't just let me roll a die or pick a name out of a hat. Five of you will play in the session, and I have to hold a contest to determine who those five will be. If you would like to play in this session, here's the rules:

  • Send an email to threshold.eberron@gmail.com
  • Include the name of the character you most want to play in the subject line. All characters are available.
  • In the body of your email, tell about what the character is leaving behind... more details on this below. Please limit your answer to a paragraph. To increase your chances, you can apply for multiple characters... but answer the question for each character you apply for.
  • The people who played in the most recent session (July) aren't eligible to play in this one.
  • Your answer must be submitted by Noon Pacific time on Thursday, July 25th, so MOVE FAST!

These characters are going into space for the first time. It's a dangerous mission into the unknown. What is it that they regret leaving behind? A lover? A sick relative? A beloved pet? An unresolved debt? As noted above, limit your answer to a paragraph, and it could be as short as a sentence. What I am looking for is an answer that adds depth to the character and most of all, one that could come up in the session and add drama. We're going to tell a story together; I'm looking to you to help make that story more interesting. Again, check out the Kanka site to learn more about the characters and consider what fits with their established backgrounds! Elfreda the Aegis doesn't have her backstory yet, but she's an elf who's served with the Royal Eyes since they were first formed; she's seen many things and she hates impulsive behavior and unnecessary risks.

Thanks to Joseph Meehan for helping to maintain the Kanka site and to Matthew Johnson for the picture of Elfreda! I'll see some of you this weekend.

Post any questions about this process below!
