In the last poll, you all decided that we would play out the time that Kala and friends are away from Thelanis to discover what has changed in their absence. This means that the May session will focus on the characters who have been left behind. It will definitely involve Deven, and I'll decide if there are other required characters when I issue the challenge. So the first thing is to pick the time. For various reasons, it has to be Saturday, May 28th, but the time is flexible. You can pick any number of options, but don't vote for a game time unless you can actually play at that time. My goal is to find a time that provides an opportunity to as many players as possible, and if you vote for a time you can't actually play it just confuses things. People who played in April are ineligible to play in this session.

Beyond this, the vote determined that we're going to add two new characters. From a mechanical standpoint, I'll note that the current roster of characters doesn't include a Cleric or a Monk. We've met a few NPCs who could fill these roles...

  • You all saved Sheriff Constable. We've never seen him fight, so he COULD be a Living Weapon monk, crushing enemies with his adamantine fists!
  • Sarvus'kor, pictured above, is a kobold cleric of the Fury with an old connection to JT.
  • Epitaph is a missionary cleric of the Silver Flame; she might decide to settle in Threshold to teach Tari.
  • Vesper is the local preacher—a cleric of the Sovereign Host, specifically the Three Faces of Coin. While she's always keen to turn a profit, she does have the best interests of the town at heart.

On the other hand, someone entirely new could come to town. Who would you like to see? Whatever you decide, we will have a follow up round will get to vote on specific details about the character, both mechanically and to further develop their story. Also, this is just the FIRST character we're going to be adding to the roster. We'll develop another character next month! So even if you vote for one of the established characters, feel free to suggest other ideas in the comments.

Thanks for your support!

Hexblade called Raven aka “The Chosen One”. He totally steals the show in every scene he’s in and gets kicked form every dnd table he’s at because the other players just don’t get how awesome he is. He’s from the future and he’s here to avenge his dead father but actually the twist is he killed his own father. He looks just like Sepiroth from Final Fantasy but has sun glasses. Hell yeah! Let’s do this!

Interesting. A fury cleric. What domain would you recommend? War? Or maybe fiend warlock? Just the chance to be a kobold sounds fun to voice!

Under other circumstances I’d consider a warlock, but part of the point of nominating Epitaph, Sarvus, and Vesper is that the cast currently doesn’t include a cleric, so she’ll be a cleric. We’ll have a follow-up vote to choose her domain and establish additional details.
