Hello Everyone!

I'm in the last few days of writing for Exploring Eberron, which means I won't have time for another IFAQ until next week. I also want to post the May poll for the next major article, and I thought I'd give you all a chance to weigh in on topics you'd like to see.

IFAQ articles need to be short and specific, but the main articles can be longer: the last few articles have covered Dolurrh and the Znir Pact. Nominate ideas in the comments and I'll include my favorites on next week's poll!

Thank you for your support!

I fail to see the connection between the demons and Xoriat beside the fact that the cults seem to occasionally worship both. Maybe it’s in there somewhere and I’ve missed it through my readings but I definitely could use some additional infos

I propose lycanthropy. Lycanthropy is known to be a plague that has spread to Khorvaire and has led the Church of Silver Flame to conduct an inquisition against the infected. We also know that after the Purge shifters, descendants of the licans have appeared on Eberron. I would like to ask you to deepen this theme. What is the true origin of lycanthropy? It is said to be Wild Heart, but how did it act? How does transformation relate to the 12-moon phases of the moon? Are there moons that generate more "powerful" effects? Who was "patient 0"? (we are also in Covid period ...) What are the reasons that led Silver Flame to go wild like that? Are there important historical events? How did shifters really start? What are other places where lincanthropy could generate another outbreak of infection today?

I actually did write an article about this a little over a year ago: http://keith-baker.com/dragonmarks-lycanthropes/ -- this also has a link to dragonmark article specifically about the Lycanthropic Purge.

It's doesn't answer all of these questions, but a critical point is that the Silver Flame didn't "go wild" -- the LYCANTHROPES went wild. The curse became far more virulent and the lycanthropes were driven to aggressively spread it. If the Templars hadn't intervened, it could have destroyed Aundair, or even Galifar itself. As the article notes, it ENDED in persecution, but it began as a battle to save civilization from an apocalyptic threat.

There is no connection between demons and Xoriat. The Cults don't worship both of them; it's a general term used for people who worship either one. Exploring Eberron goes into much more detail about the cults, so you'll have more to work with soon.

Re: Shifters, they predate the Lycanthropic Inquisition, they predate humans on Khorvaire, and they aren't descended from lycanthropes, not definitively. Tashana in Sarlona has shifters and they ranged further than that before the Sundering. If anything lycanthropes represent a corruption of shifters, or an apotheosis otherwise, rather than shifters a watering down of lycanthropes
