Hello Skele-friends!

And a special hello to our brand new faces! We got a couple new people around here, welcome!

I got one last treat before we box up 2023 and put it away for good. The Playdate once again came SO CLOSE to taking the gold but a tribute to Split Screen Multiplayer games is your UDUG video for December.

As I outline in the video, this video does not really have an outline. I know UDUG videos are supposed to be loose but this video basically devolved into "Get a load of this game!", which at its heart is what SSFF is all about but it's usually better organized haha! Also while making this I thought of a few more potential ideas for 2024 UDUG videos, those will be on next weeks poll for January's UDUG.

Projects Going in to 2024!

Densha de GO! Train Controller - Densha de GO! is a Japanese train simulator that has a special controller. And a friend of mine happened to have the Saturn version and they let me borrow it! So naturally I gotta see what it's like to play Doom and Quake and Resident Evil with it! Haven't made one of these types of weird controller videos in a while!

Faceball 2000 Gameboy - This is a project that's been more-or-less in the works since October 2022. Myself and a small community of friends have been working on the fabled 16-player mode. I've been documenting our progress but things basically came to a stop over the summer. However we made some huge progress just in the last month or so! This is going to be a big video to not only document the game but our journey to see if the 16-player mode is even possible! Not sure when it'll be done but it'll be a passion project for sure

Garbo Amazing Switch Ports - MK1 on Switch reignited an idea I've wanted to do for years, technically compromised Switch Ports. I've got all the gameplay footage shot and almost all the notes and research done, just need to start the writing proper and form an actual video! But it'll be a nice short video, which I need right now haha.

Zeebo Corrections Video - I guess I'm not quite finished with the Zeebo after all! People who grew up with or worked on the Zeebo keep dropping new info and corrections in the comments, stuff that  is not really out there! As the unofficial English-speaking authority on the topic, I feel duty-bound to make one last video. This will be shot UDUG-style, at my desk so I can get it out quickly. Though it may be long it wont be a big production. Haven't decided if I wanna get another video out before this, just so there's a break in-between Zeebo videos, or just get it over with haha.

I've got more things planned for 2024, like the Ouya script Cass and Grace started a while ago, and RE4 Remake Mobile surprised dropped just last week! But these are the 4 that are right on my plate right now. I usually take January off but I don't plan on doing much of that this year, I want to keep this momentum going. So I'll see you next year!! Have a safe and happy new year!! Thanks as always for the support!

Stay Powerful,
Uncle Derek

Looking forward to this year's content, especially the ouya. I was a Kickstarter backer, with intent to specifically use it as an emulation station (it even predated retro pie). All you ever hear about is negativity about the oem controller (it supported dual shock 3 and wired Xbox360 controllers), crappy game selection (outside of tower fall). Even though you could install almost any android APK ok it. It had a tegra chipset, which was no slouch at the time (they even discussed offering upgrade kits to a new gen tegra at the time before it failed).

So excited for the Faceball video. Uncle Derek making video game history!
