Hiya everyone and welcome to the first ever SSFF Game Club Podcast! 

You all voted a few weeks ago and we've been going hard on StarTropics all month and now it’s time for Grace 'n Uncle Derek to finally talk about it. Don’t forget to watch me finish StarTropics on http://twitch.tv/stopskeletonsfromfighting this Friday at 4pm PT!

Just because we've had the podcast doesn't mean we're finished with StarTropics! We wont be voting on the next game until next week so keep at it! In the mean time, I'll be in the Game Club Discord channel talking it up!

When I was a little kid, I had both startropics 1 and 2. startropics 2 was somehow the game that I beat first, I vaguely remember thinking that 1 was harder. Nowadays I think that 1 is clearly better than 2, but I think I like 2's soundtrack better, also I think the spike shoe from 1 is one of the coolest weapons ever. It was cool to hear you guys talk about the game, I look forward to more podcasts!

Thank you so much for making this open for everybody during these times! I played Startropics for the first time because of this and just finished Zoda! I really enjoyed it even though the movement took me some time to get used to and made for some frustrating unintended jumps into the void (and playing it handheld with the Switch Joycons didn't help!). Gave me some good summer vibes and longing for the sun again :D

So glad you enjoyed it! It's a demanding and unique game but always balanced I've felt. Playing with Joycons is can be a pain because the select button is hard to reach. I played with a pro controller which has a better layout but even then I remapped start and select to L and R. Hope you'll be back next month!
