When we put out our YouTube Horror Story video we didn't know what to expect. We definitely didn't expect our little community to rally and have the incredible growth we've seen in just the last 24 hours. We are both so grateful and honestly, kinda speechless! (Wow, a first for Derek 😂)

We've been holding on to this fear and uncertainty for so long that this MASSIVE show of support is like, wow! WowowowowWOW! I don't have a better word for it. WOW! Thank you. And WELCOME!

I have some misc. Patreon things to tell you guys about! If you're pledged at the $2+ reward tier, make sure you get hooked up to the Discord. That's also where we record the podcast, so if you're at the $5+ tier and you want to listen in, you need to be on the Discord. PLEASE MESSAGE US IF YOU NEED HELP GETTING ON DISCORD! Sometimes it's tricky to get everything working.

Also, if you want to access the podcast on your normal podcast player, here is our RSS link, that link is available on our "Overview" page. It's hard to find things on Patreon sometimes, here's a pic:

One last thing, we are a "per creation" patreon, not a monthly patreon. Patreon gives you an option to set a max monthly limit on donations so that you can manage your budget!!!! Here's a link to do it: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002984506-How-do-I-set-a-monthly-max-to-my-membership-

Thank you so much for supporting us!! One thing Derek and I always say is we don't want anyone going broke over us. If you need to cancel for whatever reason, that's fine! We're always so amazed and grateful that people want to support us. Also sharing us does so much too. Thank you! We're going to have a really awesome video coming up early next week about Dreamcast Peripherals. I'm SO EXCITED for you guys to watch it, so stay tuned!

I’m glad your channel is getting better. You make such amazing videos.

etc etc

Happy to have been a viewer since the HVGN days. You guys are unstoppable!

John Drew

Agreed, the content you guys create is well worth the "cost", especially since you ask for nothing outright. Either way, just keep making content like you guys do! It's incredible work.

I didn't know HVGN was a thing until I saw the video. Great content, it's a little too bad that video quality was so bad by default then. I was a little sad the episodes were so short.

Joel Berube

To quote an obscure line from Dr. Strangelove: "I'm happy that you're happy!" :)

Joshua Jackson

Yay! Love you both and don't go ANYWHERE...no matter what YouTube does! 😊

To follow-up on the YouTube algorithm, a number of gaming YouTubers have said they noticed the algorithm seemed more favourable with Nintendo related videos. Do you think it could be because for the longest time Nintendo has been associated with family friendly (despite having mature games in the past) and other platforms haven’t as much? There are other Nintendo topics you could cover like the Mobile Game Boy Adapter or comparing all chess games for Game Boy, GBC and GBA and seeing if they improve on the age old board game or make it worse.

I saw the video and since you guys are having such a hard time, I really feel like sometime in the future that I want to go back to the $2 tier I was on before because of this. I'm not confident in the whole setting a limit thing, since I want to be able to consistently pledge with the $1 without feeling like my support is being "cut off". Right now my sum is usually a consistent 15$ across all my pledges, it is easy to keep track of and doesn't go over my budget. I'll see what I can do eventually, you guys are definitely one of my absolute favourite shows on youtube and I've been with ya ever since the HVGN days. You deserve all the support you can get.

Madison Kava

It is well deserved after all. Wishing you both the best. :)

So glad to be here!

You guys have worked too hard and for too long to merely survive at the whim of the algorithm! You've got real fans, and we're happy to part with our hard-earned dollars to support your hard work. I'm only sorry I didn't pledge sooner. Keep up the good work, you guys are some of the best creators on YouTube!

Happy to contribute! Well worth it for the entertainment you provide. You motivated me to contribute to several other channels as well. The downside of creating positive and upbeat content is that you never let on how hard it is to make a living doing this. Made me realize I should be contributing to more of my favorite creators. Greetings from Fairbanks, comrade!

Been a fan since your amazing HVGN Sweet Home video. You two are doing great things, we're all here to support you and cheer you on.

Davey Cakes

It's amazing that none of this struggle comes out in your usual videos. The passion and dedication hides it all. You're not only entertaining, but professional. And, you deserve better. I'll be upping my pledge.

Finally pitched in what I could, guys. I've been following this for years and it's been long overdue. I was hoping to catch you guys at PRGE and shake your hands, but I completely spaced on the panel! I know I already posted on the Horror Story video, but thank you again for sharing the reality of this situation. You guys have a unique voice and content, and I'm going to be rooting for you two all the way.

Been a fan since the HVGN days, you've always seemed like a friendly, upbeat person and I'm glad to be a supporter.

Jeffrey Canam [GrahfMetal]

I know I asked this before, but is there any site to contact you guys other than Discord? I dealt with some rather rude members when I tried to figure out Discord last time, so I'd like to avoid that cesspool if I could

New Patron here! I watch your videos a lot at work, and I love your unending positivity and love for games. I get to learn a lot about the history of weird games and products, and I really appreciate your takes and comparisons on Japanese vs Western versions of games. If you ever need any Japanese help, please don't hesitate to reach out to me!

StopSkeletonsFromFighting

that was back in the day where you had to make multiple video "parts" if it got too long! good times haha, thanks for checking those out!

StopSkeletonsFromFighting

YES i think this absolutely is a factor. the bigger factor might be that nintendo has done an amazing job of cultivating some hardcore fans who want to watch nintendo videos. this january is going to be interesting if nothing else. hoping it's not as bad as i fear!

James Peters

Excellent! As someone who works in localization, my peepers are peeled!

New Patron! In truth I somehow didn't even realize you guys had a Patreon. Really enjoy your videos. Funny enough the one you said was a big disappointment, the 10 weird Nintendo names, was actually one of my favorite videos. I love how bad Nintendo is at naming products sometimes. And I was happy the Super Mario Maker for 3DS 2DS Mario Maker Edition was so high on the just since I had just bought one for my son.

Mikey Hall

Also a new patron because of this video. Y'all are probably my favorite gaming related youtube channel. Unique videos and great deep-dives. Keep up the amazing work!!
