2024 Patreon Update (Patreon)

Hi folks! Now that my break is over, it’s time to talk about what’s coming up for the Patreon this coming year! Whoa, crazy! I had a lot of time during my break to consider what I want to do next, & where things should go from here. So here it goes.

So, first and most importantly, monthly animations are coming to an end. The previous ones are still staying up—they’re not going anywhere, don’t worry!—but no new ones are coming down the pipe. The reasons for this are twofold: (1) I want to be able to make these longer than 30-60 seconds & (2) I want to get better at animating in order to make longer animations possible.

So, for now, monthly animations are canceled. In their place, I’m going to be doing binaural monthly audios.

What does that mean? Well, these are audios where you can hear in all dimensions around you (put your headphones on!), and I did a test audio of this a while ago so you can get an idea of what those will be like.

These will be available for the same tier that had monthly animation access ($19.69). And the Demigod tier ($30.69) and up will get access to WIPs, and the Debutante ($26.69) tier and up will get a poll where Patrons can chose 1 of 4 possible story ideas for the binaural audio. This will be different from the $9.60 tier poll, where Patrons chose how an already determined plot goes. Instead, the Demigod tier will get 4 completely different plot summaries, and can vote on their favorite.

Now, what does monthly animations being canceled mean for my long-term animation project? Well, I’m not sure yet! Still trying to figure out what I want to do there, to either put it on hold for now until I can improve my animation process, or keep going with it. It’s a big decision, one I haven’t made yet because of its weight. And I will update all of you asap with what ends up happening there.

All of this will soon be reflected in the Patreon descriptions etc, which will be updated in the next couple of days.
