On behalf of the king, you go to rescue the princess from the dragon that absconded with her! Unfortunately, it doesn't go exactly as planned...and the princess seems to have some hidden secrets, too...

I don't get a lot of opportunities to write full stories like this, but I did during my break so please enjoy! I may narrate this story in full in the future, too...

______

You charge at the dragon with your lance, shouting “For the king!” as you lunge at the creature, certain this will be an easy victory. And then, you’ll be able to rescue the princess from the beast’s clutches! Surely—

But then, the dragon lifts a claw, and stomps on your lance, shattering the metal into pieces. The impact knocks you to the ground, and you hit your head on a rock, hard.

Black spots begin to fill your vision, and you fight to stay conscious, trying to see something, anything!

And when you’re finally able to see again…

…you see that the dragon has lifted you in its claw, bringing you towards its scaly face.

You struggle, but each scaly finger holds firm, and you’re no closer to escaping the creature’s grasp than when you started. “No…!” you cry out, even as you realize you’re helpless against this beast.

You turn your head, looking at the princess. You failed her. Failed to rescue her, and failed in the mission the king bestowed upon you. The least you can do, you can reason is see her one more time before your untimely demise. Let her see how much you regret being unable to free her.

And yet, upon locking eyes with the princess, you see joy in her expression.

You open your mouth to question her—

—when something else fills your vision, plunging you in muted darkness.

You yelp, turning back to face forward, and then looking around, trying to figure out what happened! There’s nothing but darkness around you; your eyes haven’t quite adjusted to it. But there’s also a…strange sense of wetness around you? You’re trying to figure out what it could be…and then, you realize—the dragon closed its mouth over you! It’s going to devour you…!

“No, no…!” you scream again, your cries growing louder as a giant tongue licks you. “Please, no!”

But the dragon only chuckles. It lets go of your body, releasing the hold of its claws, and then it, in the same moment, it gulps. You hear the gulp loud and clear from your position on its tongue, and the gulp sends your body flying, down the tongue, to a tunnel that must be…its throat…!

“Oh god; no…!” You scream once more as you’re sent down the dragon’s gullet, helpless to do anything but fall down the wide, slippery throat. Something wet and spongey slaps you as you head down, the dragons tongue helping you in your journey…

The throat is like a tunnel, leading you down. Even as you desperately grab at the fleshy wall, it soon becomes apparent that there’s nothing you can grasp onto slow or stop your descent.

Finally, with a splash, you land somewhere soft, and almost…rubbery? No, not rubbery, but…

You gasp, inhaling sharply as you realize—this is the dragon’s stomach.

You raise a fist to bang on the walls of your prison, but your hand sinks into the wall of blubbery flesh without making much of an impact at all. Despite that, you raise your other hand and strike the soft stomach, over and over again, desperate to escape, hoping your actions might be making some sort of difference—

But then, you hear the dragon laugh. “I love when prey gives my belly a nice massage without my having to request it.~” it says, voice muffled. You flush, and lower your arms indignantly.

Outside, you also hear the princess, and strain your ears to listen. Her captor has certainly proven how dangerous it can be, but hopefully she’s safe—

“Agreed. Means another good one for your ravenous appetites,” she says with a laugh of her own.

Wait…what?

“I wish they’d stop coming after me,” she continues, “but I suppose my father wouldn’t let my “kidnapper” get away with it that easily…”

“Indeed,” the dragon agrees. “And I must say, their attempts at “rescue” have kept me well-fed.”

The princess chuckles. “They certainly have, my dear. I’ll rub your belly, help our brave knight digest for you…”

A moment later, you feel something press against your prison, shifting the walls. You immediately step back, startled, and slip on the wet surface, landing hard on your back. Groaning, you look up, and see the walls of the belly are still moving…is this the princess’ belly rubs?

Unfortunately, you quickly notice how the princess’ motions are making the dragon’s stomach more active. As you hear it moving around you, more stomach acids begin to flow into your prison…

You wince, gasping as the gushing flow hot acids against your knight’s armor make you feel like you’re burning up. With a start, you realize lying on the floor in this state will make your demise come faster, so you try to get up—only to fall onto your back once more.

“There you go,” the princess coos, continuing her motions. “You’ll digest well, knight, just like all the rest.”

“Digest…?” you ask. “I—” But at that moment, a few drops of stomach acids drip from straight into your mouth, and you cough, trying to expunge them.

“Of course,” you hear the princess murmur. “It seems you’re slow on the uptake. Well, my father doesn’t choose his knights for their intelligence, after all…”

You flush red hot, partially from indignation, and in part due to how swelteringly hot your prison has become. “How dare you insult the king!”

You hear her snort. “Oh hush,” she replies dismissively. “If anyone can insult the king, it would be his daughter, after all.

“Besides, as long as he intends on getting me back, he’ll keep sending you knights to “rescue” me…which gives my companion a lovely, filling dinner. So please, keep coming, knights. Because my dragon enjoys devouring each of you, one by one…”

You moan, trying to speak, but the heat and the acids surrounding you has made your body too weak to utter a word. All you can let out is a soft gurgle as your eyes flutter closed.

“Sleep well, knight. Know that, even in death, you served your princess very well.~”
