Alright. Let's keep this climb going! There's a weird amount of matches tomorrow and I'm not about to let one win go to my head and start going crazy. I'm keeping unit sizes light tomorrow and keeping my head down.

I have plays from StoppageTime as well as a SportsLine article so it's a busy busy day. A big posts here but I'm dropping my unit size to limit my exposure! Article at the bottom for those that want to read it! BOL friends!

Liga MX Article

Apertura Matchday 2 starts up with a match between two teams that finished Clausura earlier in the season on painfully average terms. While neither team found much success, with Puebla finishing 11th on the table with only six wins in their 17 matches and Santos winning five, both teams do have an affinity for high-scoring affairs. While we don't have a ton of statistics to look at during this season with only one match played, looking back at their last season, both teams averaged far more than one goal scored per match, and one goal conceded per match. Puebla finished their 17-match split with 26 goals scored and 32 conceded, while Santos finished with 23 scored and 37 conceded. I expect this matchup to pick up this season where last season's trends left off.

Puebla Form and Expectations

Puebla started off their Apertura with about as good of a first match as they could have hoped for. They traveled to University Stadium in San Nicolas de los Garza to take on a strong Tigres UANL squad. Even though Puebla struggles on the road and Tigres are a beast at home, they managed to walk out with a share of the spoils after they managed a 1-1 draw. Even though they were minutes away from a win before Nicolas Ibanez equalized in stoppage time, they looked impressive and defensively shut down a strong attacking host side. Now they have their first home match at Estadio Cuauhtémoc and will be looking to start off their season in continuing form for their fans.

Santos Form and Expectations

Santos, under senior manager Fernando Santos, will be looking to immediately bounce back after their disappointing 2-0 loss to Queretaro. Even though Santos lost their season opener, there were some positive takeaways to be had with their match. In the game in which they failed to score, they had the vastly better attack for the majority of that game, and if they possessed a smidge more urgency in the attacking third, there would have been a different outcome. With 56% possession and twice the shots on target as Queretaro, they have the foundation to build off of as they prepare to take on a tricky Puebla side. With both teams desperate to find their first win, expect goals from both ends in a closely contested matchup, with an emphasis on attack in an open ended match from post to post.

Would it be safe to say that going over 3.5 total goals in the Puebla vs Santos game has your stamp of approval @buckets?
