Writeup
While most people will take a break from betting on soccer with the end of the big European Leagues, we move forward! While we no longer have leagues like the English Premier League, Ligue 1, LaLiga, Serie A and Bundesliga, we do have things like Brasileiro Serie A, which has goals a plenty. Looking for our first Brazil Serie A article of the season we have a rivalry match between newly promoted Vasco da Gama hosting Flamengo.
Flamengo Form
Flamengo are one of the usual giants of Serie A. This is a team that has finished in the top five every season since 2016. While they're currently sitting eighth in the table, after a slow start, they are finding form again. They have three wins, a draw, and a loss in their last five. This is a team that wins by constantly attacking regardless of the goals they've conceded. Eight games into the season they sit with 14 goals scored and 10 conceded.
While they are in good form at the moment this will be a difficult game solely due to their congested schedule. Flamengo are still participating in the Libertadores Group Stages as well as the Copa do Brasil. Just four days ago they had to play a grueling match against Fluminense in the Copa do Brasil, and only three days after this match against Vasco they have a brutal match against Racing Club in the Libertadores. Expect squad rotation here.
Vasco da Gama Form
Vasco Da Gama qualified for promotion last season after finishing fourth in Brazil Serie B, and returned back to top-flight greatness. While they did well to reach the top once more, they've been struggling in the new year. They're currently sitting 19th out of 20 teams in the table, with only a single win so far this season.
They've now lost three straight, however, they are actually scoring a decent amount. They're averaging a goal a game with eight goals over eight games, while conceding 13. They've managed to score goals against teams like Palmeiras, Fluminense, Coritiba, and Atletico Mineiro.
This is a team at home that is capable of scoring against anyone and even though they might not be able to win against Flamengo, they'll look to take advantage of an exhausted Flamengo squad. And Flamengo know they'll need at least a goal or two here to get points even if they choose to slightly rotate.
