It's been a long while since I've released music officially, and this was grounds for a lot of re-evaluating, a lot of planning, but in the end all work I'm deciding to do for myself.
I wanted to feel in control of the release process, and I know that I've got the connections to push the music where I want them to be (roughly). Here's two premieres for the self-release. Thank you UKF and DJ Mag.
'Snake Charmer' is dirty tension and urban bleakness, backed with serious firepower on the drum sections and roaring bass. Something about it reminds me of big band jazz, crime syndicates in the US, but also grime and broken beat UK bass à la Tectonic Recordings & Hemlock Recordings.
Flip side 'Missed Call(s)' is the point equidistant from Berlin, London and Detroit. It's an electric piece of work, from the humming bass foundation, to squelchy breaks and drum machine manipulation, to the playful rave stabs dancing atop…
