Great opener. A lot to digest & get my head around. Seeing Nick not get a moment to himself to grieve was so difficult. He's an actual badass! I hope that Trubel is okay. Chavez said a war is coming, so I guess that'll be the big threat of S5? I hope Renard is in the know with regards to this war and can help rally the troops some how. We didn't get to see Diana but I hope she's also safe. Adalind and Nick welcomed son Kelly to the world which was a joyous moment amongst the carnage!!

This was one of the best season premieres of the series. It felt like nonstop action, even in the nonaction parts. At the beginning of the episode during the black and white scene in the cemetery I actually choked up a bit and my eyes got watery. I can't imagine losing your mother and the love of your life at the same time. I'm very fortunate that at least my mom is still here. Chavez was a badass and I'm sorry that she died. I thought her presence and her excellent fighting skills would have made a good once in a while team member. Speaking of that, I was so happy to see Wu participating more with the crew. My favorite part of the episode was the scene at the end when Nick met his baby for the first time. My favorite part of your reaction was when you said, "I can't express how big of a moment that is when you hold your child for the very first time...". My son was born in 1990 and I'm so very lucky to have a photo of me holding him for the very first time. Now imagine being 80 miles away when you get the call that your girlfriend is in labor. That was a very stressful drive. Yet another great one Dak, thanks!

The way the last four episodes of season 4 had you in a tail spin and you were struggling to construct your thoughts vs now, just goes to show how jam-packed they were. Welcome back Dak 😂. I think you will find season 5 to be the most well paced of all the seasons so far. Without saying too much, I can confirm that every episode moved the main plot forward from the beginning (even though they don't outright tell us what it is till a few episodes into the season). The subplots are also well written and tie in very well with the main one. And like a lot of people have been saying, a lot of things in this season are going to give you many feelings (good and bad). Can't wait to dive into it with you in the new year.
