Hello Patron's

Hope you enjoy this new reaction. It's a creepy one with removable body parts! YIKES! The floating eye was a lil much for me haha. Luckily Angel Investigations were close at 'hand' to save the day. I was a lil sad we didn't get further conversation about Spike/The Ring. I'm loving seeing more of Cordy though, her character is brilliant. Excited for the next one!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on my last video guys, definitely a mix of opinions but I truly hope you will all enjoy the ride with me & my reactions <3

Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support, you're all amazing!

Much love & stay safe out there!

Dakara x

Dr Creepy wasn't in Supernatural. but he played a Doctor in an episode of Friends. He also plays the former demon boss of Anya - D'Offryn in Dopplegangland - the demon she asks for her powers back. I didn't even realise that until I just looked him up. He looks so different but the voice is the same. He's been in a LOT of shows as a guest star. I think he's a typical 'that guy from that thing'

Speaking of “Thing” from Addams Family, he made a cameo in this episode. Christopher Hart has made a decent living playing disembodied hands, like Thing and the hands in this episode.

This was a very creepy episode. I think it could’ve gone even darker, in a heavier way, but Cordy and Doyle brought the funny to lighten things up a bit. I saw you cringe when Cordy used the r word in reference to Doyle. It wasn’t cool then, but this was made in 1999-2000 and those types of words were just casually dropped. Thankfully they don’t make it a habit going forward. Loved your reaction as always

Interesting point about Angel only seeming to help women. Probably a reflection of the attitude, still prevalent today, among production teams that audiences react more stongly when it's a woman in danger etc. We (well, you) will have to see if that changes! A possible example of this is that very few people have much reaction at all to the police officer being killed, who, after all, was just trying to protect Melissa. Though this could also have something to do with people being less concerned about the deaths of characters in uniform and also to the fact that we weren't introduced to the police officer as an individual as much as we were with Melissa.

Whenever I think back on this episode, I remember it as that bad creepy episode from early season one, kind of like the praying mantis episode of Buffy season one. But, despite the extreme creepiness on display, there is actually some good stuff in this episode. Good writing and scenes from several characters. In particular Kate's line that "he took her power away, and the only person that can get it back for her is her" is really well-delivered. I don't have firsthand experience here and I don't want to speak for those who might, but that to me feels like a very true and deep insight about abuse. That, and Doyle's line about how, by charging people for helping them, they can feel like they've paid their debt and move on independently, instead of being confined to the role of helpless victim in need of rescuing. It's a clever way to "trick" Angel into considering charging people, but it also carries some truth. The people Angel helps are, pretty much by definition, victims of something. They've been made to feel weak and powerless already. If Angel just swoops in and heroically solves their problem, aren't they still just as weak and powerless as before? Seeing Angel as "just a man doing a job" lets people feel like equals, which could be important for rebuilding their courage and self-worth. In any case, really enjoying your reactions these past few weeks. You're on a roll, can't wait to see you get further into both Buffyverse shows and TGP!

I really liked Angel already by this point, when first watching. It was in some ways similar to Buffy, but it actually felt different overall. More mature in a way. Not so much of the teenage/young adult angst that Buffy had. Not that that's a bad thing! lol
