Hello cuties,

What an ep, yet again! Utter fire. I did not expect it to go down this way, was a ride though! That fight scene was intense & showed so well that Buffy & Faith's skills are on par (almost at least). There are some big moments in this episode relationship wise too, we had some encouragement with Anya & Xander, plus Willow & Oz getting closer - heyoohhhh. I do think they're great together. I know  Oz isn't much of an expressionist but he does care deeply
& is super happy, even if he doesn't show it on the outside. Giles being the protective father figure for Buffy again will always make my heart full. Bring on this finale!

I pretty much stopped trying to predict where this show was going after the twist half-way through season 2 when Angel turned bad.

Trying to remember back to when I first saw this... Did I think they'd survive the ascension? Yes, I'm fairly certain I thought the whole main cast would survive. If nothing else, I'm almost positive that by the time this aired the WB had announced both that Buffy was renewed for season 4 and that Angel was getting a spin-off. Likewise, based on previous seasons I'm fairly certain I felt confident that they'd defeat the mayor. I probably even guessed there'd be a big showdown between Faith and Buffy. As for any of the specifics... No, almost definitely not. I'd even go so far as to say I had no clue how they were going to resolve things after this cliffhanger. They did a really good job of getting to a "bad as things can get" point before hitting us with "To be continued". I *might* have guessed right about the method by which Buffy would cure Angel, and that Faith wasn't 100% all-the-way dead, but I can't even swear that I saw either coming. Even if I had, I wouldn't have put money on either guess being right. There had already been too many places where the show had zigged when I thought it would zag.
