Map Extension (Patreon)
Content
We gathered a lot of thoughts around how should new locations and map extension work, including your suggestions and ideas.
So here is the thing - some locations on the map can be 'secured' through fights of quests, or other achievement. When the location is secured you can place there a party up to 3 crew members to control the location and gain benefits of 'grinding' it. For example you can beat strong party of thugs in the slums to secure it, then you can place there a party of two whores and a pimp to serve clients there. Or it can be only one whore, and due to lack of MUSCLE she can get in trouble there.
Map extension can give you access to new locations that can be secured with a game progression to more tough and profitable locations. Maybe there could be different benefits depends on location type. Promote your brothel at bars to get more REPUTATION or just pimp your girls on the streets to get more cash. Or just leave your thugs to keep the location secured for this day.
It's a big chunk of work to implement, but we are into idea of it. Right now we are refactoring some of existing interfaces to make them appear at any screen, not only at the home plan. Although there are still questions how to make proper interfaces for all new stuff. There is an example interface for assembling a party on the screenshot. Should we bring lower line of character pictures from home plan screen, or should it be 'staff' panel? Which will be more suitable for picking characters for your party?
The other idea is - you should have 'peek' button for your parties on their duties. Plus there should be 'report' function for a party at the end of the day, where you can go through all their events and animations during their day to see what happened to them, stat and mood changes and how they handled skill checks. Maybe even put it into 'storytelling' mode, where party members told you what happened to them. The same mechanic could be used to report 'escort' missions.
Let us know what do you think.
Just to repeat it again - for now it's an idea level. We'll implement some of it for this update, but please, don't start hype to not be disappointed.
