Hey everyone! Vilsa here with another development update. This one isn't filled with too much new fancy stuff because we've been hard at work on bug-hunting for 0.2.1, but now that we have it released we're going to be gearing back up for the final stretch of 0.3.0.

Bug Fixes

From the 0.2.1 patch notes.

  • Fixed an error (and possibly a freeze) when losing the first fight without firing a shot.
  • Fixed there being two people in the bar that you could hand the plates too during the first bar job, now there’s only the one in the bottom right corner as intended.
  • Fixed a crash when being given money by the bartender after the first bar job (if you played the game from the beginning instead of Skip Prologue).
  • Fixed a soft lock when leaving to go the motel during various stages of the first bar job.
  • Fixed an issue with not being able to report the first bar job back to the bartender.
  • Fixed a soft lock where running down quickly after the intro cutscenes in the motel would cause you to run the cutscene again and then soft lock.
  • Fixed guards so that they now have vision when they move during the curfew combat.
  • Fixed issue where you could skip your movement animation to avoid stepping on vision tiles that you would have walked over.
  • Fixed issue where vision tiles sometimes wouldn’t appear after losing the combat, loading, then trying again.
  • Fixed soft lock that would occur when running into the trigger on the far left of Carceburg during the curfew combat.
  • ‘Fixed’ an issue where you could go into Jenna’s room, load a save that was outside of her room, and be able to remove your clothes at will wherever you wanted (sorry).

Combat Overhaul

We've been doing some planning and minor preparations for the combat overhaul that's going to hopefully come in 0.4.0 while we work on content for 0.3.0. This week we did some minor work on character stats, and how we're going to deal with them in a way that makes them very easy for us to work with without additional programming for how each stat works. We're also going to be using this system for a true corruption system where doing sexual acts gives you what we're calling 'Perversion', and allows you to do more and more perverted sex acts. That'll be your basic sexual progression that we've been currently faking.

We're also planning to have varied loadouts with the equipment you wear affecting the abilities that you can use. For example, having a weapon like Jenna's dual Zap Pistols would give you the 'Akimbo' passive, which allows you to use the Shoot action twice. The initial pass won't be an insane addition, but it will give us the framework to build things that we can't currently do with our combat system right now.

That's all for this week, guys! We'll see you next week on Wednesday for another Dev Update!
