Pete does not handle his issues well, and I don’t agree with him telling Kao to stop tutoring Non because he doesn’t like him. Granted Non is not to be liked and he definitely antagonizes Pete, but that has nothing to do with Kao. And to be honest Pete just needs to remove himself and let Kao do is job, he’s already told him how important tutoring Non is (even though I don’t agree with that either)…. However, as much as I disagree with Pete I cannot defend Kao’s actions regardless of the circumstances.

EXACTLY! Pete's super controlling and is super selfish for getting in the way of Kao doing his job because of his ego. Kao shouldn't have ever started to lie, but I can also see how Pete's forceful and intense behavior scared Kao into doing so. It doesn't justify it or make it okay and he still made a choice to lie that he's 100% responsible for, but Pete also shares the blame in letting his ego and anger issues get the better of him. Pete doesn't make Kao feel safe and constantly pressures Kao to please him. Meanwhile Kao gives in too easily, doesn't stand his ground, and makes bad choices when he's desperate to avoid conflict with Pete.

Kao is definitely a people pleaser to a fault, but I will never understand the logic behind lying to someone to avoid conflict. I’m not sure if when you say Pete doesn’t make Kao feel safe, you mean in being able to come to him and talk about his issues or what exactly you are referring to, but if we’re honest Kao doesn’t make Pete feel safe either and it’s a part of the reason he constantly lashes out. These shows are dramas and you can’t have a drama without conflict but let’s be clear the problem was solved until Kao promised to not tutor Non. Yes Kao may have been a little harsh in his delivery but he said what Pete needed to hear and yes Pete may have been in his feelings, but he would have gotten over it. Then here comes Kao making promises he didn’t even try to keep. Then of course he had multiple opportunities to come clean to Pete instead he actively hid it from him.

haha yes! Exactly what I mean. Pete doesn't make it easy for Kao to come to him and talk about things. But YES, also totally agree that Kao doesn't do a good job at soothing Pete's insecurities and making him feel safe too. I think they both suffer from being bad at communicating their feelings and setting proper boundaries for sure. haha omg yes I totally said the same thing - it's a drama so it needs conflict lolol. But yeaaah, it gives them a lot to grow and work through throughout the season which is interesting to watch.
