I was going through old drawings, and I came across this piece. I drew this about a year ago during a stream. I posted it earlier on Patreon, so please forgive the double post. I just thought you guys might like to get a little background information on it, so here goes:

In the background there, it shows a security guard that ended up not being used in the comic. I kinda based him off of comedian Louis C.K., but first of all, he wasn't the right type of character for what Peculiar Changeling and I had in mind. Second of all, Louis just got dragged into the whole MeToo thing, which made him even less of a right character (even though our character wouldn't REALLY have been him.... I just like to have someone in mind, but I certainly don't slavishly follow the features of the person I have in mind...).

Third of all...... I felt the comic lacked diversity. All characters were white. I decided to make the security guard a black man instead, as you have seen in the final pages of the most recent chapter.

And you should consider yourselves lucky.... If I had my way, the actor I would have based him on would have been Reginald VelJohnson, known as the cop the Die Hard movies, as well as the sitcom Family Matters.... The latter isn't that well known to me personally, so I felt the cop from Die Hard would be perfect. Luckily, Peculiar Changeling vetoed the choice, as the lovable dad from Family Matters would not have made a good choice for him. ^_^

I hope you guys enjoy this little bit of behind-the-scenes information. :-)

Nice! I love hearing about the little decisions that were involved in a creation 🙂
