Hi, all!

Okay, boys and ghouls, it's time to sit down and get the juicy gossip regarding Home for Horny Monsters - Audiobook editions!

Patrons--there is an important bit for you below, please read it even if you skip the rest.

Wet Leaf Press has officially signed an agreement with Royal Guard Publishing in regards to audiobook production of the Horny Monsters series!

In the months ahead, RGP will begin production of what I call the Deluxe Edition of HFHM. Radley's Home and Radley's Labyrinth will be re-recorded using the voice talents of Evan Jordan and Alyssa Poon to bring the world of Horny Monsters to life once more. Once book 1 and 2 are completed, RGP will begin immediate production of Wardrobe and Underworld! As long as sales are strong enough, the whole series will be taken care of in this manner.

Those of you who listened to Master Class will recognize Evan as the voice of Eli. Alyssa Poon did Solar Dragons Need Love, Too! for Virgil Knightley's audiobook.

Okay, now to answer all the questions you will probably have!

Who is RGP?

Royal Guard Publishing is an audiobook publisher who has exploded in the market, especially in regards to harem stories. They are absolutely the best people to handle audiobook production and distribution going forward. We used them for Master Class!

Where can we buy the new books?

Okay, this is the good news/bad news part of this announcement. RGP, due to their extreme success, has managed to secure a relationship with Audible that gives them an edge that WLP can't accomplish. HFHM will be moving back to exclusivity with Amazon/Audible like it was was in the very beginning. It won't be available anywhere else.

Wait, exclusive? Why?

This was probably the hardest decision for me to make, but when it came time for Hugh Goblin to sit down with the company accountant and do some number crunching, it came out that my non-exclusivity with Audible cost me over $12k in royalties last year. That's with only 2 books out.

Now imagine how big that number would get with a book 3, book 4, etc. In all honesty, losing out on tens of thousands of dollars a year is really hard to swallow. A ton of time, energy, and money went into creating a system where I could sell audiobooks directly to you, and it simply didn't pay off.

Even with RGP only paying me a percentage, I will still make more money on each book sale than I do right now. My full time plans hinge on having better passive income

What about Amber?

Amber did a phenomenal job on our first audiobooks together. Sadly, I simply can't compete with all the big anime companies (etc) who want to work with her. With an average production time of 1 book per year, choosing Amber to narrate again means you won't be listening to Wardrobe until next summer at the very earliest. The audiobook market is super ripe right now, and I needed to make a move that ensured my books were there as soon as possible.

RGP was able to produce Master Class in just under 3 months, and will likely have books 1-4 of HFHM completed by the end of this year. That means no more 3 year waits on getting new audiobooks.

Why does this matter to Patrons?

Starting early June, WLP will no longer be allowed to sell or distribute HFHM via audiobook, meaning that the version narrated by Amber is about to become a collector's edition. This also means I can't offer it as a reward anymore after June, so download your copies NOW. I will have to think of ideas for more rewards, naturally. But let me say this again: if you have earned this reward, download it now. I cannot risk breaking a contract because you forgot to check your messages.

But I was so close to the next level!

I know, which is why I'm dropping each audiobook down through the reward tiers so you all can qualify early based on your current pledge level. We will also drop the audiobook prices to 5 bucks apiece on WetLeafPress.com if you just want to buy it now.

What about Last of Her Kind?

Last of Her Kind was a one-shot that WLP still holds the audio rights to, so nothing will change there.

Still here?

I agree with Let's Play. Not only should you get paid for your work, but ensuring you have a stable passive income helps ensure that you can continue producing the best stories for years to come.

I think it really sucks that Amazon has the power and the will for monopolistic practices like "exclusive". But I don't blame you for not wanting to take the financial hit for trying to buck the system. Hope you have success.
