Hi all!
I bet you are wondering what sort of silly nonsense I bring to you today. Buckle up, kids, cause this story is a good one!
What happened
I found out a couple of days back that my name was pulled from the Clitorides nominations for Author of the Year (le gasp!). I tried to contact them but got no word. However, BluDragyn (a humble reader and fellow author) sent them a letter and actually got a response.
So the rules for the contest are as follows:
1) For an author to be eligible, they have to have a completed work
2) For a story to be eligible, it needs to be a completed work
The people at Clitorides decided that HFHM counts as a non-completed work (it's a gray area, so I don't fault them for this). As of now, the only story that qualifies me for either award is Last of Her Kind (aka Last Arachne), so I just got reinstated for author of the year, but now I'm behind!
What I would like
It is very likely that HFHM will be booted out of the categories it is being nominated in (boo!). Feel free to keep nominating it, but be aware it could happen.
Because I have been disqualified for at least a week, nobody has been able to nominate me for Best Author. If you haven't done so yet, please drop by https://clitoridesawards.org/nominate.php and help me catch up so that I can at least try to make the cut prior to voting. In the end, there is no big cash prize or anything, but it will allow me to market my stories as "From award-winning author" a bit better. (Sidestory: I saw an author online the other day who is somehow award winning with only one book and no reviews...wtf?)
Last Arachne remains in the Best Erotic Fantasy category. Blu Dragyn's own work (Runesmith Chronicles: Oni and the Farmer) is also in this category right above it. Please feel free to nominate either of these stories so that they make it to the voting round (you can nominate both!).
More info about this process can be found here: https://clitoridesawards.org/doc/FAQ
Okay, enough whining from me. Expect some Quetzalli art tomorrow, and I am off to write some Dana/Lily adventures!
