Hey all!

So I just saw the tweet (after hearing from some of you). For whatever reason, Patreon totally ate crap on processing payments for this month and several of you are suffering from credit card declines. They claim to be working on the issue, and I hope you can bear with me as they work out whatever the main issue is.

*sigh*

Thx Annabelle

Honestly, I know it can be frustrating. However, I currently owe so much to Patreon for giving me a platform to chase my dreams with, so I try to keep my irritation to a minimum :P

So this actually might have had something to do with what happened about a week ago for me...my card company contacted me to alert of potential fraud because apparently some company using patreons name was doing that hokey pokey where they charge a dollar and immediately refund it then do that again. I know they closed my card for security reasons and sent me a new one. Wonder if there is a connection...

Ya I had a random decline this mounth had to talk my bank into giving you money

I have chase bank . I have actually been standing at the check out at walmart talking to a chase rep and could not get my transaction to go through , the cashier would ring me up and I would imediately get a chase fraud alert to my phone. I ended up having to use another card. the same thing happened when I tried to reprocess my patreon charge. Chases fraud department is ruthless they will decline payments for sometimes what seems like random reasons just so they don't get stuck paying out on a fraudulent charge. All that being said my problem now after I switched to my paypal account is when I retry it trys to charge $0 . I will try again tomorrow .

I think this is fraud alert awareness month for the banking community. It's good that they check; but if they took one second to review your spending habits, or had a program that would this wouldn't be an issue.

Patreon is also being a PITA about "device verification." I use a PC over DSL, so my IP address comes from a pool and is always different, and Patreon nowdays ALWAyS wants a verification email that takes ages to arrive. What in the world are they guarding against???

PayPal seemed ok, whether that's because they weren't checking or they are better at moves/adds/changes for what apparently was a Patreon move.

So I found out from chase that Patreon changed the name of the charge from Patreon Pledge to Patreon Membership and also changed the billing location to Great Britain which makes it an international charge. That is why the charge was denied. But I have no clue why my account is still screwed up on Patreons end.
