Hey all!

So, the headline is slightly misleading. I have a friend (yes, that friend) who is helping me put together just a basic website to act as a landing page for when the book releases. When people find my page, they can see what I am all about.

Now, there's nothing that will be on the website of any real interest to my Patrons. You get way more content by being here. However, there is one very special page I am putting together.

A page dedicated to you, my Patrons.

What I am planning right now is to have a "wall of fame" type page. I thought it would be fun to have a tier system based on how much you have supported my journey so far. It would be completely optional to put you on the page, but I want a way to publicly thank you for everything you've done.

So this is where you, my patrons, come in.

This will be a page for you, by you. I would like to hear the following ideas:

1. What should we call it? We could call it the wall of fame, or hall of monster lovers, etc. I want to see some ideas, and then do a poll down the road and vote.

2. The tier system. I was thinking something fun, maybe people who have donated at least 20 dollars are goblin tier, or maybe name the tiers after the girls in the house. I would love to hear your ideas. I need to spread denominations out a bit, otherwise I will have to spend a ton of time updating the wall every month or so. Some of you have been with me from the beginning, and even at a couple bucks a month, you have helped me accomplish something I am just now beginning to grasp.

This is my way of erecting (lol) a monument in your honor. So hit me with those ideas!

Note: This project in no way takes a lot of time away from writing. I am making simple design decisions only. I just want to hear everybody's thoughts before I go forward.

P.S. Fun fact-the editor has made 6889 suggestions on the HFHM manuscript. I am currently working my way through them :P

I have a little idea at the back of my head related to this and specifically the supporters page. (this comment is half to remind me in the morning)

Since I started reading this tale I’ve come to view the house as one of the characters. Considering the difficulty of putting the girls in a ranking (we may loose/gain someone) why not have it be house based. 1-50$ sponsor a Knick knack (as we’ve seen innocuous things can be vitally important). 50-150$ painting. 500$+ a whole room.

Alice

I like it makes patrons seem more like world builders, helping support the expansion of the house.

Tell the editor to not change your style its what brought us in

On the house design - with a spoiler warning ... have it serve multiple purposes, wander round the house - maybe not VR, but street view style, brief character bio against existing art (and when/where you might begin to see them) and then hover text/selected items brings up various Patreon (at a level and/or duration) maybe even get them to come up with some "items" to be hidden in plain sight, such as knick knacks, books on a shelf, picture frames, etc.

mmm ... hadn't tried to edit comments before ... kinda new to Patreon. You could "future" set rooms so people come back more than once, i.e. so the Billiards room is locked till chapter 23, the art from chapter 24 in the hall is covered in a white sheet till a) its been done and b) its no longer a spoiler if you're up to date with the story. And future Patreons can be added later (every few months) for late comers.

What about listing patrons as former caretakers?

Anonymous

"Monster Girl Supporters", from those who knows what it like living in a house full of women.

Trimtab

My 2 cents: Patrons should be called "Caretakers", or maybe " Honorary Caretakers". Seems fitting to equate Patrons to Mike, as they have also helped to take care of the girls and the house by supporting you. :) As to tiers, definitely please don't rank the girls, they are all great. I can't think of anything beyond the top level being called "Gaes" tier...

Anonymous

I like the Caretaker Idea but if you want to do tiers try something like Caretaker aprentice or Mikes first day, then ...intermidiate ....advanced ....Master care taker or Master of the Gaes.

Trimtab

Oh yeah, i like that! Good one Robert. Master Caretaker, Journeyman Caretaker, Apprentice Caretaker, Junior Steward, etc... And above them all at the very top tier: The Architects! :D

Annabelle Hawthorne

Wow, I love this idea! I'm going to use it for now to format that part of the site. Architects at the top makes a ton of sense, so I would just need some different levels (and order).

Trimtab

In the home building trades (carpentry, plumbing, etc), Master, Journeyman, and Apprentice are three standard ranks to identify skill level and pay grade. Originally comes from the European guild system I think, but still in use in the US in places. That's what drew me to them after reading Robert's post. :)

That was my train of thought but you may have to throw in a few similar type titles depending on how many tiers you want

Ok had a look at the patreon API, it includes a way for the content creator (Annabelle) to programatically get data such as how much each person has contributed. Of course to do it properly there would have to be a whitelist of folks who want to be on the rankings like that but once set up it could handle itself.
