Ask Annabelle (April 2018) (Patreon)

Been super swamped, but nowhere near as bad as last month! I haven't been super good about checking my Lit letters in the last couple of weeks, so most of these questions are based on some conversations I have had with various people. 

Q1. Do you have any hobbies outside of writing?

A1. I do! I am a closet anime fan, been watching it since I was little. I was hooked on a movie called Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind, watched it probably a dozen times. There was a movie rental about an hour bike ride from my house that had a pretty good (if sporadic) anime collection that I would rent for only a dollar a week. It should be no surprise to anybody that the anime collection was poorly regulated, and I would occasionally end up with hentai (which I watched-multiple times). Oddly, some of the weirder videos became inspiration for some of those old stories I wrote (one involved an orgasm ray-gun!).

Q2. Will HFHM ever be in hardback?

A2. I honestly don't know the answer to this one. Once the first book is published, I will probably set it up so that a paperback version is developed and available for sale online. Hardcover novels are not only expensive to purchase, but they are expensive to develop and sell.

Now, that's not to say I won't ever do it. Maybe someday I could do a hardcover omnibus? Just a stray thought.

Q3. Do you ever want to write in other categories?

A3. Yes and no. I really enjoy what I am writing now, and have so many ideas that I wish I had five of me to put them all on paper at once. Once I am closer to "full time writer" status, I will probably experiment with some hardcore short stories closer to the stuff I wrote about when I was younger.

Q4. Are you ever going to finish Iceman?

A4. Yep! I know how it all goes down. Right now, HFHM is footing the bills for developing a writing career, so the monster-verse takes priority. I hope to have it written no later than mid-summer, at which time I will put Iceman 1-5 together and sell as a novella on Amazon.

Q5. I notice that you sometimes repeat yourself/seem forgetful. What's that about?

A5. I'm a bit of an airhead. I am easily distracted, which is why I do most of my writing in bed or in a dark corner of my home where nobody pesters me. Have you ever had an awesome dream, and you struggle to hold onto it when you wake up? I feel like that a lot. I think this summer (when I go part-time) that I am going to seriously look into a wiki page for HFHM. It would be great to have a resource not only for myself, but readers as well.

On the original question, I looked back at some old Ask Annabelle's and saw that I answer the same question a couple of times (kind of). It really is a function of somebody new asking me and me totally forgetting I addressed it already. Sometimes I will write half an email and forget to send it because I got interrupted. Dumb stuff like that.

Q6. What is one of your favorite things to eat?

A6. Eggos. With peanut butter, butter, and syrup. Just saying.

Q7. When will the next chapter come out?

A7. I am doing revisions now! You will see it this weekend!
