I got you, Lola: First, Nen is a secret to the overwhelming majority of people, so Battera finding someone to pay would be incredibly hard. Those capable probably don't care much about money. The people who created Greed Island are extraordinarily talented and are joining their abilities in creative ways(bound as card effects) with the restriction that they can only be used in the context of the game. The only exception for that is the reward for completing Greed Island. It's an incredible feat that allows treasures and miracles that are beyond normal skill to invoked.

Does anyone get the feeling Milena really cares about Killua and doesn't want Gon to hurt him? Also yeah as others have kinda said, the stricter the restriction, the more insanely overpowered a nen ability can be (like how Kurapika limited one of his abilities to only Phantom Troupe members, making the chains basically unbreakable). In this case, the card in question is insanely hard to acquire, one time use only, and even harder to bring out of the game (you have to win the game). So a powerful nen user (Ging or one of the other gamemasters) was able to make this insanely powerful card due to all these restrictions. I also just wanna bring up the similarities between Gon's fight here and the ball game he played with Netero on the airship early in the hunter exam. He knew he couldn't beat Netero, but wanted to at least make him use his left hand. He prided himself in making Netero use more of his ability, and it was pretty endearing, but here were seeing a more fucked up version of that same instinct.

Ahh I really can’t help myself from commenting whenever you bring up Kurapika, I’m honestly embarrassed lol. His story is REALLY important and diverse. Trust me he’s got a LOT of amazing things in store for him. It continues later in the manga where he is the main character right now. I hope you can read his backstory to get an idea of what his childhood dreams were. That’s an important aspect right now, that and sadness of course. No need to forget about Melody or Leorio either.

Nen is kinda like math or alchemy from FMA, a complicated enough equation can result in ultra specific outcomes Greed Island in and of itself is a giant combination of math equations that create a system that allows the cards to work, even something like Angel’s Breath can be created from enough layered and concentrated Nen abilities

Nen works exactly like how the writer wants it to work because Nen doesn't exist.

I think of Nen conditions like shining light through a magnifying lens. If Nen with no conditions is unfiltered light, it’s not particularly strong, but when forced through a focusing lens, it becomes many times stronger. Chrollo having 5 conditions to activate his stealing ability is like 5 lenses, each adding power to the Nen ability at the end. Kurapika having his ‘chain jail’ ability limited to 13 people in the entire world (the phantom troupe) makes it unbelievably focused on said 13 people, and essentially an unbeatable move for those caught in it. This can be applied to almost any ability (Hatsu) when you break it down. Breath of Archangel is only able to be used outside of the island when the game is beaten, a feat not a single hunter has achieved thus far, an incredibly difficult condition to achieve means an incredibly strong ability, and even then it is only able to used once.

i think a lot of ppl and reactors (especially some of my friends 😭) start to disregard the good aspects that make up a majority of Gon’s character once the more concerning traits are displayed more. It becomes all they can focus on. which makes me a bit sad as he is my favorite character and he really is a good boy at heart…!

I think this is one of the clearest explanations in the thread, nice job! I hadn't considered the fact that making the cards only work in the game or upon clearing it was a condition, that's super cool. I just accepted it at face value.
