Many large US cities have hot zones where crime is more prominent and police don't go out of their way to patrol those areas (instead over policing other places to meet their arrest quota) which leads to skewed crime geographic numbers that cities then take advantage of Gentrification often follows which leads to more displaced black and brown people affected by poverty which leads to more crime which cities divert their focus away from (focused more on local business and benefiting developing or wealthy areas). Season 1 showed us that Stringer and Avon make so much of their money buying up real estate and then selling it The beginning of the season opens with the mayor destroying the housing projects which is just symbolic and does nothing to actually prevent the crime that the poor people living there suffered from, perfect season opener honestly

To be fair to the mayor destroying the projects they are way harder to police than regular neighborhoods or apartment complexes. You're probably right about it being used in the show as symbolism for easy actions that don't solve the problem though. I should start watching this show, whenever I read the comments it sounds good.

@A From comments I’ve seen of yours on here and HxH and The Bear I think there’s a lot of things you’d enjoy about the show! It really sounds like you enjoy digging into themes and characters (Berserk fans unite 🥲) Each season focuses on a different aspect of the city of Baltimore to show why the problem (the war on drugs) isn’t being solved Season 1: law enforcement and poverty (Every character on both sides of the law is punished for their actions) Season 2: Economic dysfunction leads to crime (Shows that institutional failure of society isn’t just a race issue but a class issue) Season 3: why these problems aren’t solved by local politics (The government caught in a cycle of creating solutions to problems it helped create) Lots of characters but the show is a masterclass in world-building (seasons have stand alone stories but each one feeds into each other thematically and through the topics discussed) and I really think the discussions LM have are worth tuning in for

It’s funny to hear these things from the man paying $10 to the women who completely disagree with and despise his politics Keep using the n word casually bro and keep replying to my comments! I’ll take you out to dinner if you reply to every comment I make

You don't know my politics, you ASSUME my politics because I don't agree with your pro criminal ideals. I really doubt they are antifa scum like you. Be real ma nigga. Your dream of dangerous criminals roaming free won't happen. Fortunately.

Para social weirdo acting like you know them or something😂

It's hilarious how champagne anarchists and socialists demonize law enforcement with the pretense of being "anti racist" when over 80% of Black Americans don't want less police presence in crime ridden neighborhoods, for obvious reasons. If you want to be around dangerous criminals, go and get your stupid ass put in prison to satisfy your weird fetishes. Normal decent people want to live their lives peacefully. Niggas weird fr 😂

They said they’re pro affirmative action and completely disagree with you about guns and law enforcement behavior and random comments you’ve made about race and queer people and the crazy shit you’ve said about how characters like Bodie don’t deserve sympathy How many weeks now have you replied to my comments? I mean a guy can only handle so much attention 😳 Glad to know whenever I post a comment you’ll be there for me 🫂

They're entitled to their opinions no matter how naïve or hypocritical they may be. I'm sure they mean well like a lot of left leaning people. Hopefully they learn to be more independent in their thoughts and not support things just because it sounds noble. They're not from that environment, so I can understand their ignorance.
