I want to have Lan Fan's baby...or General Armstrong's?

This is what we've been telling you. You said 'what are shows like this, as good as this', and we all said 'this is as good as it gets'. There's a legitimate sadness after watching this show, knowing nothing will ever compare.... I first finished FMA:B when it was new, and I rewatch dozens upon dozens of episodes at least twice or 3 times a year. This is the peak....

Alex

Ever? How do you know that? “Back in my day son, we had the best music…nothing will ever compare…*withers to death* 💀 “

Alex

Re:gluttony sure he doesn’t seem malevolent but he’s had to ignore a ton of crying, screaming and offscreen pleading from his victims which prolly include children so he’s not exactly an innocent simpleton going with the flow

FMA:B has genuinely the greatest ending of all time from a story telling perspective. I'm not talking that I personally liked the ending or anything. I'm just saying that if storytelling was an arm wrestling competition, Hiromu Arakawa is like the Hulk. (It's more accurate to compare her to Saitama but that reference might not land for some people). What she managed to pull off no other writer before or after her even thought it was possible let alone try.

Harfie

Hunter hunter has the same affect for me. It’s very different in pacing, storytelling, and themes than fmab, but it gave me an experience I’ll never forget/ haven’t seen in any show I’ve watched since. It really surprises you in the best ways.

I love Code Geass, but it does have serious flaws. I put it at C+ or a B- on my rewatches. its very special to me, and the plot pulls through, but there are severe development issues that are easy to notice on screen. I do want them to watch it, especially while they're looking for good dubs to watch. Would I recommend it as 'the best' though? No, its no where near my top 20, even though its a favorite.

um I’m as big of a fan of this series as anyone... but to say the ending is something no other writer has pulled off is completely outlandish. SPOILERS..... arakawa did whats called a safe ending in literature. in which all themes come full circle and all character arcs are completed, and everything ends happy ever after. Safe endings is the route that takes the least amount of risk, everybody loves a happy ending. fmab has a close to perfect example of a safe ending, thats forsure... but safe endings are the most used form of an ending, so to say its something no one has tried or been able to pull off is insane. its like saying code geass is the only series to ever pull off or attempt the mc death ending when breaking bad exists. i think you should consume some more media before making an outlandish statement like that lol.

SPOILERS (kinda). I do not disagree at all with what you said. A good ending or "safe ending" is when a story comes full circle. Why Arakawa pulled off something you will never find somewhere else is that she pulled off over 30x "safe endings" at once. I didn't really care about the content of these full circle endings per se, I was just astounded by the sheer amount of them. I have never seen any other story have 30+ character arcs be completed in its ending. Juggling 10 balls is more impressive that juggling 7 balls. But juggling 30 balls is something beyond what is needed or expected.
