Haha, just want to mention that it's absolutely fine to lift weights and drink protein even if you're young. Lifting could actually help you grow more even if you've heard the myth that it does the opposite. Whey protein is the protein from whey, the watery portion of milk that separates from the curds when making cheese and is a natural and safe thing.

I think Mob and his classmates are all 13-15, "middle school" is comparatively 7-9th grade (I think) as high school in Japan is only 3 years

There's an unwritten rule in anime: if a character is buff at some point they will end up fighting another buff character. The author of Mob (and One Punch Man) likes to play around with such tropes. If you think the show is going in a stereotypical direction, expect a twist.

in middle school i thought i had a crush on a boy for like 2 years and then i realised i was a lesbian, so yeah, i would't say a middle school boy has much idea of anything and i agree with milena, i don't think i'm as passionate as that girl is for that club in anything in my life, like currently poor girl was obsessed, i hope she gets to keep the club

Sub and Dub for this series are both good imo, can't go wrong with either. I think some anime series have pretty iconic dubs (like FMAB and also Cowboy Bebop) so those are probably the only times dub will win. Although, imo Death Note's dub was pretty iconic and that didn't win so who knows

If you take into account the pressure that Japanese society puts on the children and young people there, I think her dedication to the telepathy club would be compared to a student who made a club to study more calculus would have! Of course, in the case of the anime more focused on the comic part!

I think shows like these that take place in schools really illustrate the difference between western stereotypes and Japanese stereotypes when it comes to school life. In Japan there's a much greater expectation to do something as an extracurricular when you're not in class, I don't think it's a requirement but there's definitely a social pressure to do something with your spare time which is born from the traditionalistic notion of "making memories" and not wasting your youth since it's the only time you won't be working or studying. Mob's adorable panic over desperately trying not to waste his life is an exaggerated parody (and maybe even criticism) of the "have intentional/appropriate adventures and hijinks in your school days and then work till you die as an adult" lifestyle that seems so typical of Japanese slice of life/coming of age stories.
