also i don't remember if this was mentioned but i remember that when they named the ship rocinante amos mentioned it meant 'work horse' which it's actually wrong, the word which means work horse is 'rocín' and as i don't know how familiar you are with don quijote de la mancha i wanted to mention that rocinante was actually the name of his horse, which if i remember correctly was skinny and weak. so all in all james as a character is often paralleling Alonso Quijano and his idealism

2022-12-31 00:13:33 As far as we know, Jules Pierre-Mao is the only one with the protomolecule. Naomi's belief that Earth & Mars have it comes from her own paranoia, IMO. I don't know anyone else who's made that claim. That would mean her reasons for giving it to Fred Johnson are specious.

Pheobe where it was found was a joint UN/Mars research station, there’s always a chance Mars took a sample from the source. And if it wasn’t for Chrisjen poking around and then Errinwrights fuckery both Earth & Mars WOULD have samples of it. If it’s “out in the world now” as everyone believes then Earth & Mars are going to get samples of it. I don’t think that’s paranoia, I think that’s foresight.
