Looking forward to The Expanse. I've never watched it either but I hear it's really good, I'll probably start watching it soon to get ready for your reactions!

Dante

It's phenomenal. So excited for them to start it.

I don't think it was Max's death that turned Gus into the person he is, I think he was always that person. He wasn't some nice guy that turned evil, we don't know much about his life but we know he has a very shady past in Chile and from what is hinted during BB and BCS he may have been a General in Pinochet's army and may have committed some horrible atrocities. I think what happened with Max made him focus on nothing but revenge, but it didn't make him "evil", he was always that.

Dante

Everyone had the same Bill Burr guess as you guys did. It was supposed to be Bill Burr this episode but he was busy so they got Steven Ogg to come back instead. He was in Season 1 episode 9 Pimento and had very different facial hair then lol

BNJ

yeah I think he was filming The Mandalorian so he wasn't available.

I AM NOT CRAZY! I know he swapped those numbers. I know it was 1130. 85 before Magna Carta, as if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. NEVER! I just couldn’t prove it. He covered his tracks, he got that idiot at the house to lie for him. You think this is somethi-you think this is bad? THIS? THIS CHICANERY? He’s done worse! He orchestrated it. JIMMY!

Yeah, Gus was selling meth to Eladio for a reason. He's no better than any of the Salamancas, no matter how much he likes to think.

Kim losing her shit on Rich was not an emotional reaction. It was calculated. After Rich got up and left her office, Kim sat there processing for a couple seconds before getting up and taking action. Causing a scene in front of everyone was done on purpose. She made their private conversation public and put the spotlight on Rich, daring him to make accusations against her in front of all their colleagues. And by yelling and flipping out on him, her 'innocence' seems a lot more convincing.

Little fun fact, since you are also watching Arcane right now. The guy who plays Gus' doctor is also the guy who voices Vander in Arcane.

Also... I wouldn't discount Kim's agency. Yes, Jimmy suggested going further as an option, but it's not like he forced her. As she's said several times throughout the show, she's an adult, she makes her own decisions that she alone is responsible for. And did you see the look on her face during that scene? She wasn't worried or hesitant or concerned about her job security. She was excited, thrilled... and knowing Kim, probably horny too, lol.

Mike building a charger only to be presented with a fully working one was a perfect troll to the audience who had to watch 4 seasons worth of schemes & plans and not have a clue what was happening.

TeaDrinker3000

Exactly. It was the type of 'plausible deniability' tactic that Jimmy himself would imploy. Slippin' Kimmy is coming further and further out of her shell!

This is the one episode of BCS that, in my opinion, has a contrived storyline. I really just don't buy Mike deciding to work for Gus again because of a short speech on how he and Gus are similar. As the girls mentioned, Mike could've taken this opportunity to focus on his family, or at the very least continue with nefarious work ventures that aren't as high profile as the drug business. If anyone see's more subtext/context to the situation than me please say so, because as it stands I've always just viewed this plotline with Mike as a convenient way of getting him to succumb to a life of crime in a way that doesn't feel earned.

BNJ

They talk about it on the BCS podcast, it's here at around 7 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4MuC4ERMYw FYI, they're interviewing Giancarlo, Peter Gould, and a couple other of the writers so they have some really interesting insight on the characters.

Suhhh Dude

Off topic but once you guys finish Arcane it would be cool if you reacted to Midnight Mass, if you haven't seen it. I know Expanse is after BCS.

Hitopopamus

This is such a fun episode
