I'm having the same problem with both full and regular reactions :(

Jacob

I know you usually start reactions at the beginning of a series, but is there a chance of Derry Girls S3 reactions since you've seen the first two seasons? It's such a good show.

Lancer

I am new and unable to watch any of the Korra reactions. Please figure out a different method for viewing. I really want to see these reactions and support the channel.

Lola, I feel like you're missing something super important. If we follow your point of view and allow the citizens to vote for what the avatar should do... Do the people know any better? Do they know the consequences of opening a spirit portal? Could they predict or foresee the restoration of the Air Nation? The Avatar's job is to the balance of nature. Not human society. Citizens in general are ignorant even with matters concerning their own society, let alone the evolution and balance of the universe. And who says that the avatar's instincts aren't guided by Raava? After all, it's Raava that creates the balance, and the Avatar is simply acting out that will and desire.

I think Raava could be separated completely from a human now and let the dark and light spirits balance each other out. The avatar was created because of a human mistake and the world is evolving very fast. One human having 4 elemental bendings and a superhuman state is alot of power so it's fair to think that should not be a thing.

The problem is, Korra didn't know the consequences herself of opening the portal. She didn't foresee the restoration of the air nation. Also, apparently the mortal and spirit worlds being fully open to each other actually goes against the natural order, since Vaatu caused the first portal, but that's a whole other consideration. If the avatar's instincts are guided by Raava, then we've seen her make the wrong call in the past (unless the person was ignoring her influence). She doesn't always know best. You're not wrong that the people don't necessarily know better, but that risk is part of representative democracy, which a lot of people these days agree is a pretty solid idea despite its flaws.

My point, to be more clear, is that I don't think the Avatar is PART of the human world (even though it protects it and stuff). In reality, I think the Avatar is part of Nature. People don't vote when and where a tornado or an earthquake will appear and destroy buildings. Nature just does it. And then the people adapt. I think the Avatar belongs to the same category. It's part of nature. It'll do what it'll do, and people have to adapt.

Luis

That’s an interesting interpretation of the avatar! To follow along those lines would it be fair to say that the avatar is a god?

ODIS

Funnily enough, the term Avatar comes from the Indian Sanskrit word Avatara, which means 'a material appearance, or a physical incarnation of a deity on Earth.' Like Krishna, or Jesus, etc. However, "God" or Nature, in its physical form will always have limitations. It can still be killed. So, it's not God per se, but more like a true representative of nature, I suppose. A physical embodiment of the cosmos.
