Petition for you guys to watch Avatar: Legend of Korra now :)

Isabel

This was an incredible journey watching with you two from beginning to end. I always looked forward to these reactions. I'm so glad you both thoroughly enjoyed one of my favorite stories ever, it was a pleasure to watch. :)

Anonymous

thank you girls! it was amazing to rewatch this truly amazing and deeply written show with you!

Anonymous

i'm glad you gave us some of the final credits. i love the music, it's perfectly epic to sit and process the greatness you just witnessed

Alena

I've rewatched ATLA roughly 100-200 times and I still sobbed along with you guys while watching this reaction! So excited for Legend of Korra reactions ❤️

Anonymous

The ending always gets me. Apparently there is the Avatar Studios getting ready to create a new series between Last Airbender and Korra and possibly more. More of an excuse to watch Korra now huh? C:

ZedW

I remember very distinctly, the first time I watched this, while it was airing, when Azula was was chained to the grate crying everyone else was saying "Oh man, she's nuts" "She's fucking psycho" "She's lost it" and were laughing I was the only one who said "It's so sad...". You're one of the few reactions I've seen who saw how tragic Azula's ending was after the Last Agni Kai when you were watching it the first time. And that means so much.

Anonymous

Thank you two for sharing your reactions and thoughts on this amazing series the last several months💕 I've loved how much care and consideration you've given every single character and their struggles, even Azula, who honestly just doesn't get a lot of love or consideration on most people's first viewing. It's truly been a pleasure rewatching the show with you 😭😭 Also, because I can't stop sharing video essays, here's one I found recently that I think you may really like 🥴😊 https://youtu.be/ip1xe7JFb-g I think it takes a really interesting approach to analyzing the finale, in ways I'd never considered before as a lifelong atla fan, and I love it a lot lol. Thank you again, and I'm so excited for Korra!!!! 🙏

DougRaw

What a journey, always happy to join in on reactors embarking on this adventure. Hope the best to all who read this and thank you to the girls for some top notch reactions and for truly connecting to a story so many of us care deeply about.

Avatar is the only show that just constantly gets better and better until it peaks with the final four episodes and leaves the audiance as a happy and humble human being.

Anonymous

You guys made watching this for the 800th time even more fun than it normally is :). Excited for korra!

Katelyn

Zuko’s journey started with a lost Agni Kai and look at him now. Since Azula lost hers, maybe she will change for the better, but it will depend on her to get better.

This is one of the most brilliant shows ever made. animated or otherwise. It really deserves all the attention it's been getting the last 2 years so i'm happy they are finally working on expanding this universe again. I loved your reaction videos. It really is the closest thing to watching it for the first time again. Can't wait to see what you think of the Legend of Korra! Keep up the good work and thanks. :)

Caomhan84

Although I want it very much, I doubt that there will be a show to bridge the gap between this and Korra coming from Avatar Studios. There's probably a non-compete clause between the vreators and Netflix drawn up after they left the live-action show, telling them they can't use the original characters for awhile. There's all sorts of problems that could crop up with both narratives going at once, especially if the Netflix show changes things (which they are probably going to do). So I think the first project for the new studio will be a whole new story. Which is great.....but I just want more of the Gaang as adults in the 70 years before Korra.

Anonymous

Can. Not. Wait. For. Korra!!!!!! But i will say, alot of folks hate on Korra but her journey is the polar opposite of Aang----(Aang is built up and Korra is broken down) both come to the same conclusion of Absolute Power used for Peace. <3

Anonymous

What an ending to such an incredible show! The animation and music are so beautiful. The lead writer, Aaron Ehasz, wanted to do a fourth season but the creators were adamant about ending it with Season 3. Not sure how I feel about that decision but it definitely ended on a high note. Also, I like how they actually hired child actors to play the kids. So by the end Aang, Katara, and Toph not only visually look older but they also sound older than when they first appeared.

Anonymous

After rewatching LOK again I have a higher opinion of it but I still feel like it's a poor follow up to ATLA. It could have been so much better with just some better writing. Maybe if they brought back Aaron Ehasz it could have been as beloved as this masterpiece. But I'm sure you'll still love it.

Wow first time I ever watched the Agni Kai between Zuko and Azula and got so emotional. Just watching your hearts break made me remember that she is just a young girl, I always just thought of her as the villain. This was such a great journey with an amazing ending! you two are literally the greatest!! <3<3<3

Nigel W.

I think if Nickelodeon gave them 3-4 seasons from the get go instead of one season at a time not knowing if they were getting more, the story would’ve been better imo.

Chandler McCoy

Ugh I cried through this entire video lolol

I can't wait for Kora. It is a different beast altogether, and it is not "special" in the way Avatar is special. If you don't try to recapture the feeling from Avatar and just appreciate that it builds the world and has some good stories, you can get a lot out of it. I personally like it better in a lot of ways (more mature, more political, more personal damage), but Avatar belongs on its' own pedestal, and nothing else can compare to it. If you are looking for a once in a generation show like Avatar the Last Airbender, then you will be disappointed. It you can appreciate world building and different themes, it has a lot to offer. EDIT: And its' best fight scenes are better then Avatar's best fight scenes in my opinion. It is a lot more creative with bending.

MacarooniR0b

I don't care what anyone says. As long as I live, Avatar the Last Airbender is the best story of all time. It's perfect.

alaskan mitch

im so happy you ladies watched this show. it's so special, so many life lessons tucked into a "kids" show.

Anonymous

Episode 1 of the series is titled “The boy in the iceberg” and the last episode of the series is titled “Avatar Aang”. What a show!

Caomhan84

Okay....the difference between Avatar and Korra is....everything is "fuller" in Korra. There's more meat on the bones. It's pretty much like watching a regular drama show that's been animated. It takes the world and moves it from ca. 1855 to ca. 1925. Every concept they introduced in Avatar has been honed and presented in a fuller format. It has better animation. It has better music. It has COOL bending. .....But it doesn't have the heart of Avatar, and that's the difference. There's a lot to like. There's a lot you WILL like. But you will miss Avatar's heart. Even though they try...it just hits different because....well, the world has moved on in 70 years. It's GOOD....but it won't be your nice, comfy watch that Avatar was.

About the redemption of Iroh: I think him freeing Ba Sing Se is only part of it. If you think about how Iroh's son Lu Ten died fighting in the war Iroh was leading, it becomes clear how Zuko is Iroh's second chance as a father and sort of a way to redeem his past failings. Lu Ten's death is a turning point of Iroh's life and beliefs, only too late for his own son. (Hence Iroh in Tales from Ba Sing Se "If only I could have helped you...") Anyway, thank you for letting us be a part of your journey of watcing ATLA! I have very much enjoyed your sense for the many nuances and subtleties of all its characters. Just wishful thinking, but I hope maybe after you have finished Korra you will be considering a rewatch of ATLA, on Patreon for instance. But that's probably just me still in denial of this being the end of the journey...

Joshua

So true. I have watched many ATLA reactions and LM were the first that I have seen who actually understand Azula's story. Her story is very sad

BEST SHOW EVER. I personally don’t think Korra comes close, I even think that it ruins the universe a little. A lot of people will ask you to watch it, it’s not the worst thing ever but it’s not Avatar.

SupremeCai

Can't wait for you guys to start Korra! No matter what anyone says, it has it's ups and downs but is a great show overall. Nothing can stand up to Atla of course, but if you enjoyed the world they've created then you'll enjoy how they expand upon it in Korra. (Or at least be interested/have interesting discussions on it)

Edwin Wickey

I can't believe I cried even more than usual because I was crying WITH you! Haha! I have loved your reactions to this show so much. You both have so much love for the characters and the message and I love that. I can't wait for Korra. You will hear lots of opinions, good and bad, but I have every certainty that you will make your own minds up and I'm honestly so curious to see what you think. Personally I really love Korra, even though it could never compare to ATLA. But that means next to nothing, because ATLA is such a rarity that it's unfair to compare literally anything to it. But I can't wait to see how you guys react to it :-).

PamRenea

Yes. I loved korra. Each season she grew from each obstacle

Caomhan84

And one last thought -- a final word about Aang and Katara: She found him in the iceberg, and brought him back to life. Twice. Through her, he gained a family again...after losing his as a person out of his own time. They learned bending together, they saved the world together, and now they will rebuild the world.....together. :) It really is a beautifully symmetrical ending for them.

Jakob Schaefer

Greaaat. I had Post Avatar Depression, and now I have Post Avatar Reaction Depression. Loved it. Thanks guys.

It's been really great sharing in your journey through this show. You both really picked up on a lot of the subtleties as well as having such a clear picture of the characters and their ongoing development Yes you can never watch it again for the first time, but if it's any consolation, ATLA ages very well and doesn't get stale. It's been a while since I've watched the show through, and I think I enjoyed it as much as the first time, seeing it again along with your fantastic reactions. Also check out the creator's commentary tracks available for all the episodes if you can find it, or if you have the hard copy. Those were very good as well I'm glad I came across your channel, you guys have a great thing going. Looking forward to more content and series to come!

RJ

“I’m gonna struggle to find a show as beautiful and loving”. I was 7 when this came out. I’m now 21 and STILL haven’t found one. Good luck

Anonymous

Definitely read the comics, they are by the same creators and continue the story officially. They are really good!

Anonymous

Heres my two cents on Korra. The first two seasons are kinda bad. The characters are a bit older, so it's more teen drama like. May be you like that kind of thing, but even then it's not very well done. There is a really cool two part episode in season 2 though, and in season 3 there is a massive improvement in quality. Actually on par with ATLA imo. Season 4 has some killer stand out moments too. Totally worth watching. Now the Last Airbender movie on the other hand is an abomination. An actual crime against the source material. Avoid it unless you want to suffer for the exact opposite reason that ATLA made you suffer.

Anonymous

I know Korra doesn’t get much love but I still thoroughly enjoy it. All I can really recommend is that you guys don’t compare the two because they’re totally different. I suspect that you guys will enjoy Korra for its uniqueness from ATLA. I cannot wait for your Korra Reactions!

Anonymous

Sooo I think that Korra is every bit as good as avatar, tho in different ways as the shows themselves are very different. While there are some legitimate complaints about the show it gets a lot of unearned hate for two main reasons. One the show was kinda handicapped by the studio, Nickelodeon dicked the creators around at every turn and made it really hard for them to make the show they wanted. Two and probly the biggest reason, the main character is a girl, a very progressive character who has a lot of qualities that fans love in male characters but like will not stop complaining about in female characters.

I haven't cried this much watching avatar since the first time... thank you so much for taking us on this journey with you. It means more than you know to be able to experience this masterpiece through new eyes and new hearts with you both... <3 subscribed to patreon to watch this one after following you both on youtube for a long time and now i'm sticking around for Attack on Titan which is another show that has impacted more than any other, and seeing it for the first time with you both again has already been amazing.

I’m glad you both enjoyed the journey. This will be my third time watching the series— the second time rewatching as an adult. This thing came out when I was a kid and I didn’t understand all of the powerful messages and stories this world wide phenomenon had interwoven within. Watching it with you was like watching it the first time again. The emotions were raw, the expectations were high, and the nostalgia— oh the nostalgia hit in the right spots. I’m glad both of you will have this to look back on one day. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see what you’ll view next! (Hopefully Legend of Korra). Take care and peace.

Legit became a patron because I couldn't wait to watch the finale again with you guys. Great reactions, your guys empathy is really fantastic! 😭 cried with y'all

Comics are cannon and were overseen by Mike and Bryan. PLEASE don't listen to anyone about Korra. Just watch it and love it. It's a lot different, but very good still.

Anonymous

Don't listen to what people say about Korra. Just watch it and form your own opinions about it. The majority of reactors I've watched who go into Korra without getting bogged down by all the (oftentimes ridiculous and unfair) fan backlash end up loving it.

Jeanine McGhee

I'm kinda glad yall understood and sympathized with Azula's mental breakdown. I agree - her story is incredibly tragic. But a lot of reactors just don't seem to pick up on that and call her the usual derogatory names instead; crazy, nutcase, etc. It's kinda refreshing so see reactors be so empathetic towards her.

selina

Gotta agree. Korra's got a lot of cool features, but a lot of it fundementally ruins the universe for me. (The spirit/lore especially.) The comics are hit and miss for me, too. I just like to think of ATLA as standalone honestly.
