I was worried that the show would be a disappointment like Game of Thrones season 8 and I didn't want to watch characters I had grown to adore lose any depth of character and become just a shell of themselves. Last week, Melkor convinced me to give House of the Dragon (The Dragon Show) a chance and what can I say: Great show. Visery's journey to the Iron Throne and his speech to his family in episode 8 of season 1 really touched me. I'm excited to see where the journey goes. And what a great episode this one was. But what I'm still missing in the show are the insights from other families. We are currently switching back and forth between three factions (Daemon, Rhaenyra, Alicent / Hightower) and I would just love to see more of the House Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Martell and others and their political positions, intrigues and discussions on the conflict. It's a shame that the other houses only play a role when one of our three factions encounters them and interacts with each other. At the same time, the absence of these makes for an extremely fast-paced plot. Compared to the first 14 episodes of Game of Thrones, so much has already happened in House of the Dragon.

Omg you watched it after I recommended it I’m so happy. 😁 And don’t worry if the show follows the books decently well you’ll get some more perspectives tho not from all main houses. And sorry but this civil war is about the Targaryens so they will have most of the spotlight even when other characters are involved. The war hasn’t even reached the climax yet it’s only just beginning. I hope we get some major battles the books include.
