I’m surprised to hear LM suggest that only Gon and not Killua had a major storyline (and character development) during the Chimera Ant arc. The arc was just as consequential for Killua: it’s where he finally began to reckon with the trauma of his upbringing (facing and overcoming Illumi’s deep-seated conditioning and manipulation) and to put into action everything he’s learned from Gon about himself and other people (making friends with Ikalgo, which it must be noted set off a chain reaction of events that culminated in the King remembering Komugi). Chimera Ant at once showed us the best and worst of Gon and Killua’s friendship—why it’s the best thing that ever happened to Killua, and also why it needed to change. That one note aside, near-perfect reaction. Rightfully lots of excitement for this arc, which I think will go a long way to giving LM some much-needed catharsis and closure for various long-running plot and character threads.

I think since they watch slowly and Chimera Ant Arc is pretty long, they forget that Killua's needle was also in it. I honestly forgot it was the same arc myself because the Palace invasion was very long lol
