The person referred to as "Kudoda sama" in the drama is "Oda Nobunaga" in the actual history and was just about to be the shogun when he was killed by Akechi, Mariko's dad. Oda was basically a tyrant at that time, killing so many farmers and monks destroying the temples, which was kind of an unbelievable act even for people at that time, and Akechi, who was said to be a firm believer in Buddhism, probably found it too much. Taiko was Oda's most loyal servant, and Taiko was originally a farmer. So in many history dramas, it is depicted that Ochiba actually hated Taiko because of the difference of the family line (Ochiba is from Samurai, while Taiko was not)
